Best easy fake tan?

I'm off on jollies this weekend - it's just a citybreak but the forecast suggests it will be nice enough for bare legs.

My legs have not seen the light of day since last summer. They are grey white (apart from the pretty blue squiggly thread veins in places Blush).

Is there a product will give them a nice hint of colour that's not a faff to use - preferably to apply just once, not build up over few days?
Oh - and pretty disaster proof too. I am a clumsy clutz and will streak/spill/rub off anything fiddly.

Thankyou thankyou for any suggestions.

I am TERRIBLE at applying fake tan but have just brought some Rodial spray tan which even looks ok when I do it. I'm not being modest, I really am awful at applying fake tan but even i can do this.

Rimmel sun shimmer is actually really good and comes in light, medium and dark - it's wash off so just put it on and go.

Vita Liberata.
Best bar none, IMO, for v white skin.

WellBlowMe · 08/05/2012 14:40

Ooh thank you.
I will investigate all of those further.

I'm no expert applyer, and I find St Tropez good. I apply an hour before I go to bed and shower in the morning. I am fairish skin and tend to go a golden brown in the sun, this has the same sort of tone as I would naturally go.

Violetgirl · 08/05/2012 15:22

The L'Oreal spray one (can't remember the name) is brilliant. Impossible to make mistakes. Just remember to rub you knees, elbows, heels and knuckles with a damp cloth or face flannel after applying to avoid streaks.

SweetieDoesIt · 08/05/2012 17:02

What ever product you go for use a tanning mitt, available most chemists. This makes the application so much easier, less streaky and patchy. I wouldn't be without mine now and use for all tanning products.

Wish i could help- i've even streaked Boots gradual tan despite exfoliating and moisturising every daySad

One layer of fake tan then apply sally hansen airbrush legs before you go out.

snailsontour · 10/05/2012 18:41

Fakebake flawless self-tan liquid is the business.

Dunno if it's true but Katie Price says to apply lots - that the mistake people make is to try to spread it too thinly (not that anyone could accuse her of applying it thinly Grin)

swooosh · 10/05/2012 18:48

I've tried LOTS and honestly the best one is St Moritz. It's about £3. I use the mousse one, you can get it in cheapy shops like Savers. Just apply with a mitt and rinse off in the morning.

MrsSeanBean · 10/05/2012 18:52

St Tropez everday gradual tan/moisturiser is the best I've tried. Slap on after shower, it's pretty foolproof.

Eliza22 · 10/05/2012 19:00

Swooosh, is it the Dark or Light mousse?

swooosh · 10/05/2012 19:01

I use both. I'm quite pale and the light is very natural but if I want a bit more build up I put the dark on.

Eliza22 · 10/05/2012 19:11

Thanks Smile

WhatEverItIsIDidntDoIt · 10/05/2012 19:31

Saint Moritz foam from savers £3 with a mit or Famous Dave's foam £30 from boots is wear by them both :)

I'm a pasty pale lady too!

diamondsonthesolesofhershoes · 10/05/2012 19:40

Loreal foam one. It is a gradual one but goes on as an instant tan, giving you a glow straight away, have a shower the next day and voila! Slightly lighter but still tanned.

Fake bake instant is also good but a bit pricey and I'm always wary of instants as they tend to come of in contact with water. Splash of rain an you look like a leopard!

broadsheetbabe · 10/05/2012 19:43

Agree with MrsSeanBean, St Tropez everday gradual tan/moisturiser is brilliant stuff.

Just apply, go to bed and wake up with a lovely looking tan... easy peasy! Grin

frankie4 · 10/05/2012 20:28

I like the johnsons gradual tan one. If you use the dark one it is noticeable even after one use. But it smells! And all of my clothes and bedding end up smelling of it. Does anyone know a similar fake tan that smells nice?
