I had he brows done and I love the results. I am keeping up with the bits that need filled in and I bought an Estée Lauder pencil but I don't like it. Can you suggest anything? I have read reviews on bobbi brown and smashbox but don't know which to try.

I really like Benefit Brow Zings

cybbo · 07/05/2012 19:13

I have the smashbox chisel tipped pencil with the brow gel at the other end and I woudlnt recommend. The tip is too chunky

Best pencils I have tried (have VERY sparse brows) is YBF eye brow pencil (available on ebay from The States) or Bare Minerals eye brow pencil. Theyre good if you like a precision tip to mimic real hairs.

I ahve cheapo eyebrow powders for filling n

Browzing from Benefit is excellent. I barely have eyebrows so I've tried virtually everything and that is my favourite.

ohforfoxsake · 07/05/2012 19:15

I've just been converted to Benefit Browzings too.

BerryLellow · 07/05/2012 19:16

Yup, brow zing vote here too

QuinnFabray · 07/05/2012 19:18

I've tried a fair number of eyebrow products, and my favourites are the GOSH eyebrow kit from Superdrug, which is about £7, and comes in a little round compact with a mirror, three colours and an eyebrow gel. It's really good for the price.

I also love using a MAC eyeshadow and a flat angled brush. Any of the matte browns will do, depending on your hair colour. I use "concrete" or "charcoal".

dearprudence · 07/05/2012 19:21

I like Clinique's brow pencil - it has a very fine tip and you twist it up, so don't need to sharpen. The soft blonde colour (their lightest) is perfect for me.

But interesting to see so many positive comments about browzings - I'll check it out. And if it's not in the next 'mumsnet recommends' email I'll eat my hat! Wink

MarianForrester · 07/05/2012 19:22

Benefit one here too!

cybbo · 07/05/2012 19:23

A soft pencil is no use to anyone- I find a lot are like eyeliner pencils in texture. I need a rock hard waxy thin tip that is a diff shade depending on pressure

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/05/2012 19:30

Watching this with interest as I have only just realised that I ought to probably be doing something with my brows, other than plucking the odd one when I get a bit American Werewolf.

I bought a cheapo pencil but it's pretty rubbish - I bought a mid brown that looks fine in the pencil but seems to turn almost ginger when I put it on.

Am interested in the idea of a little brow set - what do they come with and how do you actually use them? Thicko alert.

blondiedollface · 07/05/2012 19:43

Benefit Brow Zings allthe way, it's easy to use and v effective!

gregssausageroll · 07/05/2012 19:44

Brow Zings

You can download the pdf plus it comes with an 'instruction manual' :)

ggirl · 07/05/2012 19:50

blackdogs recommended this makki one to me and it's brilliant!!!

Whatevertheweather · 07/05/2012 19:50

Remus with the benefit one it has a soft brush to brush on the powder with which sort of 'fills in' the colour of your eyebrow and then a hard angled brush which is for the wax which you put on over the top to 'shape and set'. Also comes with mini tweezers. It lasts for ages too so dont be put of by the price.

Remus a wise choice Grin

Whatevertheweather · 07/05/2012 19:51

Argh gregssausagerolls a wise choice Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/05/2012 19:54

Thanks, Whatever. Will go and investigate that one then. I fnd Benefit a bit hit and miss (and the assistants scare me) but I really rate Benetint and it lasts forever, so I know that if I find a Benefit product that I like, it will be worth the money.

QuinnFabray · 07/05/2012 19:59

The GOSH one is just as good, and only £7.

Kaloobear · 07/05/2012 20:01

I use a BB eyeshadow and a small, flat angled brush. However, the American brand Anastacia (Anastasia? Sp?) is meant to be the absolute best when it comes to eyebrows.

Clure · 07/05/2012 20:08

I have brow kitwww.sleekmakeup.com/en/products/brow-kit-dark-sleek-makeup-516.aspx its fab. It looks similar to the benefit browzings but lots cheaper

RnB · 07/05/2012 20:16

Another vote for Clinique Superfine Brow Liner. It's the best I've ever used.

WannaBeWildCosMyLifesSoTame · 07/05/2012 20:54

I agree with cybbo - I need a rock hard pencil to mimic actual hairs, anything else looks too 'done' on me. The Soap & Glory eyebrow pencil (forget the name) is good first time but as soon as you've used it the tip goes soft and thick and it doesn't sharpen well. Might look at the Bare Minerals and YBF ones and see if they're any god for me.

Mombojombo · 07/05/2012 21:09

Brow-zing here too. My eyebrows fade out after a couple of cm, so I love the hard angled brush to fill them in. It lasts for a long long long time too. Have had 2 in 6 years of sometimes twice daily brow drawing-on (does that make me a keeper-of-skanky-makeup??)
