How do Mums feel about ever wearing mini skirts again if we get our figures back?

After lots of hard work at last I have my size 10 figure back to what it was pre DD. Before we had her I was a great fan of short mini skirts and boots, I have a pic on my profile. I just don't know but I am just unsure of how I look in Mini Skirts now. Of course DH loves them on me but I went out last week wearing an old favourite for him and I just didn't feel right. Is it because I am just not used to wearing them. I have worn above knee skirts, suits and dresses for the past 3 years now and I am used to how look. Do you all feel at 27 a mini skirt is a better look for someone young and single? I like to please DH but I also want to feel good about myself when we go out. What have other Mums felt about skirt length when they got back in shape?

I would say that at 27 and a size ten you can wear whatever the fuck you like...with the obvious proviso that you stop doing that strange leg-lifting thing, which is just plain odd.

I'm 33 and still wear mini skirts but always with either opaques or leggings and flat boots. And covered up on top, cos I do think the golden rule stands true - show either tits or legs, but never both.

That said, I only wear kind of 60s style A line mini skirts as I would feel self conscious in anything shorter.

Has anyone ever told you you look a bit like Marian Keyes? You have a lovely figure btw.

For me, its not the length - I'll wear short shorts all day long. Its the exposure. I feel totally disempowered if I can't bend over or get in and out of a car without flashing my arse/minge at anyone walking past. Have you tried shorts? They are much more practical and on-trend (well, in my neck of the woods anyway). I think one of the most aging things a person can do is carry on wearing the make-up and clothing styles of their youth, even though it can be sad sometimes to think 'oh I'll never wear that again'. I second Aberdeen on the 'tits or legs' theory :)

No to nude tights with mini skirts

you look good in short skirts and theres nothing wrong with dressing to please your partner, as long as youre comfortable too and its not an expectation

I've never had the legs for a mini skirt, even at 20 and a size 10/12 my thighs were just too heavy (well I thought do at the time, if I woke up tomorrow with the thighs I had at 20 I might change my mind). It's a figure thing, not a dress size or age thing.
