facial hair dilemma

hello. I am blessed with a hairy chin. I have tried electrolyisis - waste of money for me - ended up going every week and no difference - in fact I think the hairs became thicker and spikier after that. Tried being facially waxed - dont have problems with waxing in other areas but each time my chin was done I had bright red face for about 3 days and then spots for another week - not really a good outcome.

I have been using cream for sensitive facial hair removal over last year and that is ok - no problems - i need to do it every couple of weeks or so. I am now aware that the rest of my face is more hairy - not dark spiky hairs but just more hair - if I stand in a certain light then I look like I am wearing a little fur coat on my face - eek. I have been examining the faces of my friends and colleagues and although some have a slight down on their cheeks none are as visible as mine. MY BIG QUESTION IS - Dare I try the sensitive skin hair removal cream on my cheeks or would that be a disaster. I dont want to be walking around with a full facial rash. Any suggestions - advice from other hairy people very very welcome. TIA Kate

Have you spoken to your gp about a hormonal imbalance maybe?

I've started shaving the sides of my face, as I was looking a bit were-wolfy in bright sun light. On my cheeks, hair removal cream and waxing both seem to remove the top layer of skin in patches, leaving an attractive scabby area .The growth is quite long and there's a lot of it, but each hair is quite fine, so the "stubble" is negligible.

I use Veet wax strips on my muzzle area, as the hairs are coarser.I put lots of talc on first to minimise scabbing, and never go over an area more than once.

I sound so lovely, don't I?

just quickly checked for replies as have friends arriving any minute for bank holiday gathering (& probably to stare at my furry face). I have to look over these replies properly later but couldnt go without saying to "onehandflapping" - you have just made my day by describing part of your face as "your muzzle" PMSL :)

Watching with interest..... I have exactly the same problem and I hate it. I haven't dared do anything other than plucking as my legs react so badly to creams and wax that I didn't want to risk pulling my entire face off.

Have you considered laser hair removal. It can be pricey but it's permanent. With the money you are spending on hair removal products you may be able to afford at least a couple of sessions. There's a product called the 'No No Hair Removal System' which you can use in your home without going to a salon. Might be worth a try.

Have you got polycystic ovary syndrome? I found dianette to be an effective pil for reducing symptoms.

I know how you feel...one day I went to the ladies and wondered who that bearded lady was looking back at me in the mirror!!

I have resorted to threading every 2-3 wks as it's quite thorough and I don't have any reactions to it.
