Blinking Boden and credits/ refunds

I know they are actually right but I'm still miffed.

I've just returned an unworn dress which I ordered in January and which came a few weeks later ( was ordered in preview) but because I've returned slightly over the 90 days after it arriving they won't refund me, just give me a credit. it's still current stock and is sold out in that size and colour so I am sure they will flog it no problem.

I could understand if it had gone off the site due to sales or was really old stock but feel a bit miffed.

I know also that I will buy something else from them, but would rather havehad the cash at the mo.,

Well their refund policy is just about the best out there really. I mean many places are now only 14 days and the likes of reiss etc will only give credit in store even if you returned the same day!

And the credit will last for ages . . .

Not quite the best- John Lewis now have a completely ope-ended returns policy- no deadlines.

Oh come on - you had 90 days to return it! Moaning because YOU missed that very generous deadline is absurd.

ameliagrey · 03/05/2012 18:17

Thanks Northern for that empathy ;)

Grin Yup empathy for distressed shoppers is my strong suit

What are you going to spend the credit on? I've been really pleased with the funky knitted tunic and the fab jersey tunic. Just don't buy the weekend cheap tunic - complete crap!

Annoying but most places do only give you a very short time. I ordered a bag from House of Fraser in the sale, l,ove it but then found one in the Debenhams sale I prefer but was 2 days out of the time. So, spent the same amount as if not in the sale but luckily had two bags.,

I think 90 day is very very generous and reasonable amount of time to have decided whether it is for you or not, sorry.

I think 90 days is very generous. Did it get lost in the back of the wardrobe?

slalomsuki · 03/05/2012 19:03

I returned a shirt for dh that I bought in October with 25% off in January over the 90 day mark. I got a full refund and they had stopped selling it by the time I returned it. I guess it's who you speak to. In my case it was a Christmas present that he didn't like.

oohermrs · 03/05/2012 19:05

Stick it on eBay you'll probably make a few pounds on it!

Abzs · 03/05/2012 20:29

slalomsuki, did you mention that it was a Christmas present? A lot of shops give a longer allowance for christmas gifts. We do where I work.

I know, i know. I did say I was just having a rant.

I'm a very old loyal Bodenite- been buying ever since they started, and it was just over the 90 days.

I hoped that as it was still current stock and a very popular dress - sold out in size and colour- ( because they will refund for any item after months and months , even if worn but you aren't happy for any reason) that they would refund to my card.

It was unworn etc etc and still with tags- I j ust had 2nd thoughts about the fit.
