Do you use blonde highlights to cover grey?

Have been going grey for years but it's definitely got worse in the last couple. My temples are very grey and I keep pulling out others elsewhere too. Parting also bad. My hair is mousy. Have been putting in highlights and low lights forever. They grey is really obvious now so I am thinking of going very blonde. Anyone got any advice re shades etc?
My hair is long ish, just below shoulder and wavy. The hair is sort of thin ish but I've got loads of it iyswim.

my hair was very dark brown naturally and it got so grey I highlighted the whole lot, really lightened it to blonde and now I keep it blonde with half head then whole head of highlights. It blends the grey in so I dont have to colour it every few weeks like I would if it was still dark. Find a good hairdresser who will be able to find a blonde to suit your colouring

Yes, I'm not very blonde, just a few high lights shot through to break up the grey - works much better than a full on colour on my hair, you can still see the grey up close but the high lights deflect from the greys. Find a good colourist and ask their advice.

Thanks. How do I find a 'Goidelic' colourist? I am happy with my hairdresser, she does a great cut. No complaints with colour but it's lead by me iyswim and I would like to be advised.

It would be a bit of a faff going to two different hairdressers wouldn't it? Why don't you talk to your own hairdresser first?

I would google 5 war salons and ask for an appt with their colour specialist.

I have finally given up battling with the brunette and gone back to blonde (after a few years of trying to be "natural"). I am naturally brunette but have so much grey through the top section that the re-growth seemed almost instant after colouring. I finally went back to blonde 2 months ago and I love it. I have been using John Frieda's Go Blonde shampoo & conditioner and that is definitely keeping the greys that are coming through bright and white rather than rank & dark!
