Is this dress posh enough?

Wondering if this dress is posh enough for a summer wedding party next weekend. Its meant to be mainly outdoors. It is lovely on - gives me a waist / hips that I dont usually have so I quite fancy wearing it but wondering what accessories I could get to make it a bit smarter. Thought about a pale lemon cardigan type thing but worried a cardi would make it more casual. Also not sure about shoes. Thanks for any help anyone can give.

Metallic would be nice as suggested on the site

I think a cardi might make it look too casual- what about a soft longline blazer

Yes it is lovely and I would be very tempted with the shoes as well.

I would need a spray tan though, I'm still a bit pasty for pastels Smile

I think it's really pretty.

I would wear a darker grey less casual cardigan with it. You can buy cardigans that aren't sloppy 'boyfriend' styles but more fitted into the waist and with interesting detailing. Maybe one with a tiny peplum effect?

I'd wear a darker colour than lemon even though the dress has yellow in it. There's a chance that yellow might be a little matchy-matchy and take the dress from it's edgy modern print to something a little too girly.

I always see outdoor weddings as less formal anyway, certainly they present a greater opportunity for creative dressing.

If you are going to be standing about on grass, beware of very pointed stiletto's. There are some lovely summer sandals about with closed or open toe-Carvella and Kurt Geiger plus Clarks have some fabulous T bar yellow leather heeled forties style sandals here-

For bags, go for an edgier clutch, maybe a raffia/metal embellished clutch. Raffia is very fashionable this season due to Burberry Prorsum using it.
I'd avoid matchy matchy in a bag-no lemon or blue or grey. Also avoid shoulder strap bags with this look-too conventional unless it's Chanel...Grin.

This style of bag would look good. You can find similar at a lower price in most department stores, Next, Accessorize, River Island and Zara.

It looks great to me! Would be perfect with a silver grey pashmina. Yellow clutch. this is okish for the price but there are plenty nicer about if the budget allows.

Thanks for lots of ideas. I love the idea of a dark grey peplum cardigan and will try and look for something like that I think. Thanks for the idea of a pashmina too. That raffia clutch is nice (although I'd prefer cheaper) and will look for yellow too. I'm not brave enough for yellow shoes I think but a clutch would be nice. Any other ideas or links still very welcome! Smile
