I tidied my scarf drawer yesterday and thought what a nob I was

Innit

MrsBovary · 23/04/2012 14:58

Yes, I do. Ballet shoes are soft ballet shoes here, for ballet class.

RubyFakeNails · 23/04/2012 15:01

I call them pumps of flats, sometimes ballet flat. Don't feel a nob as I seem to have acquired friends who say things like:

Yesterday, In Fortnums Hmm

I'm afraid I say ballet flats out loud, to people, with a straight face.

I can't see a way round it, really. I hate 'pumps' as a word; it makes me squirm with embarrassment.

Mind you, I think I jumped the wankiness shark a long time ago, the day I heard myself saying 'When I bumped into my homeopath in Fresh and Wild the other day ...'. Blush Grin

NewMatic · 23/04/2012 15:10

you old ponce ;)

OP posts:
LadyClariceCannockMonty · 23/04/2012 15:10

PerryCombover · 23/04/2012 15:22

HouseOfBamboo · 23/04/2012 16:12

In this house they are referred to as 'those ballet things'

Horrid flappy pongy footwear.

MagsAloof · 23/04/2012 16:30

Pumps is so American.

'hey, I just got some awesome pumps from the store!'

NO.

NewMatic · 23/04/2012 17:29

Like a "dressy pant suit"
Hs company is American. We sometimes get edicts thus.

OP posts:
Jakadaal · 23/04/2012 17:40

Pumps or more specifically 'a pump' as in 'I could wear this with a pump'

DarrellRivers · 23/04/2012 17:42

Hmm
Ballet shoes sounds like you are ballerina which is wierd
Unless you are Darcey herself
Ballet pumps i reckon

thestringcheesemassacre · 23/04/2012 17:44

I just say pumps. Ballet at size 12/14 is never going to happen.

polyhymnia · 23/04/2012 19:03

I call them 'ballerinas'. Not sure if this makes me better or worse than those who refer to them as ballet flats!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 23/04/2012 19:05

I say ballet flats. What else do you call them?
