Can grown women wear cats?

oxcat1 · 21/04/2012 19:16

Young looking size 8 woman, 33, would like advice on whether she can wear cats, or will she just look like an overgrown toddler?

The model manages to look quite cute and kooky, or maybe it's just weird?

Save me from myself?

Im same size and similar age. I wouldnt personally.

I dont think DH would ever stop laughing.

HecateTrivia · 21/04/2012 19:24

no.

Just - no.

oxcat1 · 21/04/2012 19:24

You're probably right.

sigh

Must learn to embrace middle age gracefully.

Nope!
They also wouldn't pass the DD2 giggle test.

(all clothes in the Star household have to be approved by 11 yo DD2, if she laughs they go back.)

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/04/2012 19:28

Fuck no, we're not middle aged!

We just need to dress sexy but not trashy.

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 21/04/2012 19:28

I really like them.

You can wear anything if you wear it right.

PerryCombover · 21/04/2012 19:31

Dreadful

DioneTheDiabolist · 21/04/2012 19:35

I don't think that anyone over the age of 5 can carry off this look. Some people think they can and good for them, but I think the yoghurt in my fridge has a longer shelf life than this fashion.

Sunnywithachanceofshowers · 21/04/2012 19:40

Possibly, but not those ones.

oxcat1 · 21/04/2012 19:54

I have listened carefully, ladies, and learnt my lesson.

Will not try to do outdo the yoghurt.

I'm older than you, and wear Uniqlo's grey cat print jersey dress

lololizzy · 21/04/2012 20:12

Victoria Beckham wears cat print ok I'm no Victoria Beckham mind you, I don't wish to be

ggirl · 21/04/2012 20:14

well those are hideous but also 33 is bloody young , wear cats on something nice by all means

LydiaWickham · 21/04/2012 20:23

well, you could, and on the upside when you're on a bus or a train, you'll get both seats to yourself...

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 21/04/2012 20:27

I've looked again and I still like them whatever anyone says (especially the red).

ujjayi · 21/04/2012 20:29

Cat print dress or blouse - yes. Exhibit A . Cat print shorts, however, are one step away from a Wolef fleece Hmm

It is not the print per se, it is the item on which it is printed

FrancesFarmer · 21/04/2012 20:30

The cat print is fine - it would make a great dress - but the shorts are too close to cargo shorts. The ribbons don't help either.

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 21/04/2012 21:51

I'm quite ambivalent when it comes to the cats (could be any small print),but its the shape, style, and, yes, the ribbon detailing that I think is appealing.

mrsebojones · 21/04/2012 21:59

Yes, the print isn't the problem, it's those shorts in that print that's the problem! I really like print but tend to keep it to blouses and dresses.

oxcat1 · 22/04/2012 10:03

Ok.

Well, can I have these cats then? Trouble is, all out of stock. Sad

Anybody seen anything similar anywhere?

LolaAnn · 22/04/2012 10:44

that top v v v much better than those shorts. shorts of nightmares IMO...

MissFoodie · 22/04/2012 11:25

the print is fine, it's the shorts (cut, style, button, ribbons...everything)

tabulahrasa · 22/04/2012 11:34

I wear my cat all the time, sometimes on my shoulder, currently on my lap...

PerryCombover · 22/04/2012 11:47

La Beckham's cat print has madly influenced the high street
I like that tesco print if it had sleeves and was a different colour (grin)

eurochick · 22/04/2012 11:58

I think you could but having clicked on the link the question in my mind is why on earth would anyone want to???
