Thread vein removal update

I promised to update after I had facial thread veins removed but can't find my earlier thread. I went yesterday and had a test patch done and I am very impressed.

The main area of concern for me were the four prominent veins around my nostrils. I also have much smaller broken veins on my nose and cheeks that are easily covered by foundation. I had a quick test patch done that took 2 mins and 2 veins are gone and 1 is much lighter. It stung a bit and made my eyes water but I didn't have much redness and no scabbing (so far).

I am so pleased that I am thinking of getting a course of three treatments. I will see how I feel after my holidays. So far it is the best £50 I have ever spent.

Wooo, go you! I think I will have this done for a thread vein which has been bothering me. Glad it turned out well.

I have been warned that faded veins may re-appear. I went to SK:N and a test patch for £50 may see you sorted out. Smile

Wow, thats impressive and much cheaper than I imagined. Did you go to somewhere in London?

MissFoodie · 21/04/2012 17:32

so how much would it cost to have them removed from sides of nose/cheeks?

notyummy · 21/04/2012 18:26

Would you mind telling me the kind of treatment you had? I am seriously considering having this done as I have a few on my cheek (fairly minor) and a fair few on my nose.

Eggrules · 21/04/2012 18:29

£50 was for a test patch. If you only have one or two. This would be enough. I went to a larger branch of SK:N. £ 350 for 3 intensive treatments should get rid of the general redness across the cheek and nose area. You have to leave 6 weeks between courses. If faded veins do return, you can zap them again. You are advised not to have a tan. So far no problems or redness.

Thanks!

was it laser or electrolysis?

Eggrules · 21/04/2012 18:42

Sorry I am out and about and can't remember the name of the laser. There were two main types and I went for the finer one. I have a bit of vertilgo and the other one could have caused problems with discolouration.
I know some people can have scabs but lack of veins is my only symptom. For the price of a test patch, I wish I'd done it years ago. You pay 25 quid deposit that you get off your treatment. Hth

Laser. I would have gone for veinwave, it wasn't available by me.

Ooo sometimes they have this on Groupon
I have booked three sessions for £125 but am terrified tbh as it is extreme vanity even for me

Eggrules · 21/04/2012 22:16

It is very twangy but too quick to be very painful imo. A fraction worse than tweezing. It was a teeny bit red afterwards but no pain at all. I will keep updating any changes.

Feck. May have spoken too soon.

Of the three veins treated, 1/2 of the main one is back albeit faded. It was massive and very deep red and is much improved - about 70% lighter now. There is still a huge difference and my concealer covers everything.

I am still going to the next consultation for another zap.
