False eyelash virgin - help!

Possibly going out tomorrow night, and want to look uber glam. Which false eyelashes should I buy? Last time (about 100 years ago) I tried them, I looked like Lily Savage. Really want to avoid that this time! Thanks.

Boots do their own brand for about £4.50 which are called 'natural'. Very fine, but just bulk up your own lashes a bit. If you are careful removing you can re use

BarryBumlove · 20/04/2012 18:50

Have you got time to go to a salon and get some mink individual lashes put on?

BellaVita · 20/04/2012 18:51

I use the ones by Girls Aloud - they each have a pair which are all different. The "Kimberley" ones are the most natural but give the oomph without being really over the top. Cost about a fiver from Boots.

I wear false eyelashes a lot and if you don't generally wear them then even very natural looking ones will look ultra glam. My preference is to have natural looking but much longer lashes

BellaVita · 20/04/2012 18:52

Cybbo, I always reuse mine. When i peel them off (if sober enough) I wash them under warm water and use a little bit of soap to rub of the excess mascara which I apply after the lashes are in place. I leave them to dry and they are as good as new.

Thanks all. No Barry I haven't got time to go to a salon unfortunately. I will look into that when another night out comes up.

They make my eyelids feel weird so I don't wear them. I apply mascara about 100 times and that does the trick!

virgil · 20/04/2012 18:57

I actually get through lots and so buy mine in home bargains where they are £1.99

mummybookworm · 20/04/2012 19:02

I don't think there is home bargains near us, will try Boots and Superdrug tomorrow. Thank you. Will report back on the Lily Savage look!

I have just (literally-they're still drying) fitted ardell duralash natural flares for the first time and they look blooming awesome. Took a but longer but I have no huge lash strip line. I could easily wear them without mascara or eyeliner

fit them with lashtite- they do a dark version which is better is it doesn't dry with clear bumps apparently.

MooMinCow · 20/04/2012 21:11

You can use the individual lashes with normal lash glue just for the evening as shown here. Easy than strip lashes for the novice IMO.

scotsgirl23 · 20/04/2012 21:18

Funnily enough it looks like the same ones, just with a different short term glue. They're definitely easier to get right than strip lashes, and if you get one a bit squint you can just dab a cotton bud in some remover and take the wonky one off without removing them all.

Eyebrows - help!
I'm ashamed to admit I have never ever even tried to do anything to my eyebrows and don't know where to start. They're not awful (or at least I hope not!) but I've always been terrified that if I start fiddling about with them I won't know where to stop and will end up looking very odd. However, I'd love to know what I would look like if they were done properly - would anyone be able to offer some advice as to where to go to get them sorted out?
Thanks so much
