Can anyone recommend a good comfy around the house Bra??

I'm a size 14-16 but with a 32 GG bust.

I have never worried about just wearing a nightshirt in the evenings but after 2 kids my once voluptuous huge boobs are now saggy huge boobs and I actually hate how they 'swing low'.

By the end of the day I can't wait to get out of my underwire bra but would like something that would lift and separate without wires and hooks and straps that leave marks.

Does something like this exist? I've tried lycra vests and the like but my boobs become one huge boob in them. Or is it just a case of buying a non wired bra?

I've looked at the Aah bra but that seems more geared towards the less heavier boobed ladies and am not sure that would work for me.

Many Thanks

Sorry, can't help... have you tried Bravissimo?

mumat39 · 19/04/2012 23:19

I'll have a look. Thanks MerryMarigold, I love the name by the way. :)

PS. I checked out aah bra. Wouldn't work for you if you are small backed but need large cup as they seem to come in small, medium etc.

EightiesChick · 19/04/2012 23:23

I share your problem and would like to find something like this myself. Hate to say it but Triumph non-wired might be an option to look at. I keep hearing about the Aah bra but like you I'm not sure it'll work for me.

I either wear Bravissimo nightwear or a maternity bra. The mat bras are a bigger back size than I usually wear but this suits me better at night anyway, it's more comfortable.

I've just seen the bravissimo racer back top on their website. Is that the one you have? It's the only one that came up when I searched for sleep bra. TBH i'm not so worried about sleeping in it, but if it was comfy and I could that would be a bonus.

Caffinequeen, Do you have to go up a size on the nightwear? I'm a G but the F/G might be a bit small??

JML bra? I wear a sports bra for knocking about.

Theas18 · 20/04/2012 08:17

Sports bra would give support but probably "monoboob"

Is the bra you are so desperate to get out of at the end of the day a good one that is properly fitted? IME that feeling maybe means the bra isn't right?

Treat yourself to a trip to bravissimo stor and get properly fitted for a new wired bra and also a soft bra (if there is one that would "do the job" in your siize- maybe wired is the best re fit and support?

cardoon · 20/04/2012 08:36

My sports bra is more "madonna" Grin

I love my Bravado pull on bra for at home and sleeping. It is designed for nursing but don't be put off, that just means they designed it for big boobs needing maximum support and comfort. Apparently now they come with accessories to convert from a nursing bra to a normal bra if the clips bother you.

SkinnyVanillaLatte · 20/04/2012 09:22

I find sports bras give an uncomfortable mono boob, but the sloggi bra top doesn't.But I am not quite as large of boob.

I find its the mono boob thats really uncomfy so perhaps the sloggi one would just give you enough of a hoik up?

hazchem · 20/04/2012 10:14

I was going to suggest the Bravado bra as heliumballoon says they come with clips to convert to non nursing bras.
They don't give monoboob!

mumat39 · 20/04/2012 17:08

Thanks everyone. I think of an evening I just like to not wear a bra as I just find it more comfy. I will go and get fitted again, and will look at the Bravado bra. I've never heard of that so thank you. A pull on sounds like it could be perfect. Excellent.

I was fitted at debenhams yesterday and my boobs went "aaaaaaaaaah" Smile

they're not a brilliantly flattering shape, but the maternity bras I tried on were amazingly comfy! Like this kind of thing.

scotsgirl23 · 20/04/2012 18:05

I have a few of the bravissimo pyjama tops - like the ones on this page

They are fine to sleep in - it's not the racer back ones I have, just the regular vests.
