find viv westwood's stuff too shiny/clingy. Have big arms. Could afford anglomania but not gold label so p'raps that's it.

Don't want skintight. Did not like great plains stuff. Cos looks odd on me as it has structure and I don't. Am large-armed pear. Help?

DVF/Ralph lauren, a lot of designers do bigger stuff - you'll just need to hunt it down.

Victoria Beckham?

madammecholet · 18/04/2012 08:39

I like LK Bennett.. I have a fab balloon sleeve dress which is empire line. So covers arms and altho fitted under bust its not structured..

There is an aussie shop called ts14+ they ship worldwide.
I like some of their stuff others is a bit out there. Also summer stuff is on sale.

AprilLilacs · 18/04/2012 10:36

I can find stuff in my size but not that much that looks nice iyswim! Thanks for tips - especially love that missoni! Have a couple of DVF wrap dresses but should take another look at her stuff... Find I feel a bit like a tablecloth in some prints though!

Not a designer shop by any means, but I am really impressed by the Clements Ribeiro collection for Evans. I can see several pieces there that I like a lot.

AlpinePony · 18/04/2012 10:56

Anna Scholz.

AlpinePony · 18/04/2012 10:57

Marina Rinaldi - although pricey - 500 quid for a skirt style pricey.

polyhymnia · 18/04/2012 11:59

Marina Rinaldi (Maxmara's plus size line) are excellent - if you pick and choose. Have just bought a great summer cardi from them and also bought many other pieces over the years.

They are expensive - not £500 for a skirt (unless made of suede or something) but you can certainly pay between £300 and £500 for a dress and £100 - £200 for a piece of knitwear.

Fortunately I tend to prefer their Marina sport line, which is funkier and more casual and a bit less pricy.

The quality and durability I've always found very good, as you'd hope at the price.

Unfortunately, they aren't easy to find in UK. They have a shop in London Bond St and a concession in Harrods. Many more shops, a far wider selection of styles, and also cheaper in Italy, where I've bought most of my stuff - but obv. that isn't very helpful unless you're about to go to Italy! They also have shops in most capitals such as Paris.

polyhymnia · 18/04/2012 12:02

PS Anna Scholz is also expensive - but much more 'quirky'.

I personally don't like her emphasis on bright splashy prints but some people must like them as she continues to charge high prices. If you take a look at their website you can see what you think.

PPS
Hate to mention it, but several of my most successful dresses recently have come from Boden, who go up to 22 and are far chepaer than Rinaldi or Scholz. . Again, you need to pick and choose!
