Beating heel blisters?

I have crappy feet that blister at the slightest rub. Breaking in new shoes is therefore a really painful business. I have a lovely new pair of suede flats but am unable to wear them as they rub mercilessly on my heel.

Aside from plasters which always seem to work their way off my foot what is the solution to this?

I have this problem too- even new slippers give me blisters. I rub the inside of the shoe with Vaseline to try and soften them which sometimes works.

Compeed is your friend. Bit pricey but worth it. Also, someone once recommended rubbing a candle on the bit of the shoe that's.bothering you.

I put heel grips in almost every pair of shoes I buy. For me they improve the fit and stop them rubbing in the first place so no heel blisters.

I am exactly the same as you - Compeed is good. Often I find it better to put them on the night before so they have time to properly stick to your heel.
Have you tried fabric plasters too? I often find they are much better than normal plasters, and can stay on for ages.
If you get the roll of it that you cut yourself - you can pad your whole heel out (looks strange!) but won't be rubbed off.

Also, Avon do an 'anti rubbing' stick for a few pounds which is meant to prevent the blister. I bought one but haven't had to use it yet so I can't say whether its good or not - but worth a try!

Wear sensible shoes that fit? and have laces You can't get blisters unless there is friction.

Also, try toughening up your feet, walk around bare foot when you can. Apparently rubbing surgical spirit into your feet can help harden the skin.
