Breastfeeding dress for big bust

Hello, hoping for some help with a dress for my sister's wedding. I am a bridesmaid and have been given some vague ideas of fifties or floral but have been told to choose whatever I like. My sister has given me £60 for the dress but I am happy to top up to around £100.
The wedding is in June and I'll be breastfeeding my then 5 month old DS, pre pregnancy I was a size 10, 6 weeks pp now I have a bit of a tummy so don't want anything too figure hugging. Currently wearing bra size
32 J So need a dress I can feed in that will actually fit a bigger busted woman.
Any ideas?! Thanks in advance.

frugi??

Thanks for the reply but the dress they have is very casual, don't think it'd work for a wedding.

personally i'd just get any wrap dress or dress that you can pull down. mine were feeding every two to three hours at five months and for quite quick sessions.

buy an issa one off ebay. i've fed in all of mine (size 6-8, 32f chest)

Book an appointment at one of the big department stores, like John Lewis. Give them the brief that you need a dress with a deep V in a stretchy fabric so you can breastfeed in it, and then sit back whilst they run around for you!

Something like this doesn't fit the 'fifties or floral' brief, but that type of fabric and neckline would work well. Just remember a scarf or something as you have to hoick most of your boob out over the top to feed. That way you don't have to use a pukey muslin

Thanks otchayaniye, I'll have a look, how do you feed discreetly with it pulled down? Pashmina on something? Or boob tube underneath? Grin

Pepperberry

Thanks youlllaugh good suggestion but don't live near any big department stores plus have never been happy with the fit of a dress from a normal shop, all my dresses are from bravissimo but I really wanted a nursing dress so hoping for suggestions from big busted women so that I know the specific dress has room to accommodate me! Yes dolly x posts, all my dresses are from there but I want a nursing dress so I can feed DS confidently and easily. Thanks though!

Oh, ok.

I'm a 34J and a similar Coast dress fitted me last year. You'll be more limited on styles if you want a specific breastfeeding dress, which is why I never bothered, but I can understand the preference.

TroubleAndFyfe · 15/04/2012 22:17

In that case youlllaugh I'll give coast a try, didn't realise you were 34J, very handy, thanks. Grin

I'm not normally. Just whilst breastfeeding. Grin. They are normally a more manageable DD.

In fairness, I'm more like a G now, but I was a J when I wore a similar dress to that. It might depend how skinny you are though - my dress was a 14 as I also had some baby weight . Pretty roomy though. I reckon I might still have got my bust in a size smaller. Didn't even try because of the hips at that point!

Dollydowser · 15/04/2012 22:52

Sorry yes x post! I never had a dress I could feed in, the fear of exposure too great (enormous norks) and had to settle on a skirt and top when my DS was 3 months old. I suppose a pashmina could work if pinned in place?! I hope someone else can help with better advice.
