I stupidly went to mamas and papas to see if they had anything nice in there, they had some lovely ones and i was reallu impressed that the lady said there was also 10% off, bargain i thought until i saw the £198.00 price tag and nearly choked.

has to be man friendly too as dp will be using it with the pram alone sometimes, but also wouldnt mind a really nice 1 that isnt just all about bottle holders and stuff. havent a clue where you get them from ive been to mothercare and mamas and papas then gave up and come home.

Check out these guys - Sophia and Matt - they are LOVELY people and the bags are lush, and it's good to support small retailers Smile

Hi
Don't want to be boring or anything but make sure you get a practical one, as well as stylish. EG:

One that you can squash down if you need to shove it under the pram, or one that you can strap over the front of the pram.
One that you won't mind getting dirty. And/or bad weather friendly.
Lots of separate compartments, so you know what is where when desperately struggling one-handed for a babywipe to mop up the sick Smile
Easy access (no awkward zips or buttons).

Sorry, you probably know all this already - I'll shut up Blush

Chubfuddler · 13/04/2012 13:49

I've got a paca pod. It's brilliant.

RhiRhi123 · 13/04/2012 13:59

I love my pink lining one it's the perfect size with the right amount of pockets but on the other hand it's not very man friendly, I don't think my husband is that bothered though! :)

vix1980 · 13/04/2012 14:02

InappropriateCrushes No, no i dont know this at all, this is my first baby so i havent a clue, i dont want to end up with a lovely looking bag that i cant fit into what i need, i think the 1 i liked probably falls into this category Sad.

i had looked at the pink lining ones too but dont think my dp would appreciate me getting a bag for him to carry with cupcakes all over it Smile

I've never had a changing bag. DS is now nearly three. The most practical option I've found is a rucksack, with various pockets etc. This is man-friendly, leaves both hands free for child-wrangling, and you don't get shoulder-ache or a weird bent posture from carrying the damn thing. The two straps go over the handle of the buggy, and with the bag facing away from you means it doesn't get in the way.

RhiRhi123 · 13/04/2012 14:44

Viv u and OP should link up the one you linked to is BOGOHP! :)

carrielou2007 · 13/04/2012 15:52

I love baby changing bags, I've had tonnes

I love the PL ones, very hardwearing and practical. The babymel one linked to us lovely, comfty to carru over your shoulder and has fabbi clips to attqtch to the pram better than a long strap swining away.

I like baby bags as they have lots of pockets, I also bought a rucksack, genius I thought. Well, the first time I tried to find my purse I had to fight through eveything else to find it.

I carry lots with me so didn't use a separate bag for me, I only have started to recently again, so not just nappies, mat, wipes, sacks and cream. If you are going to bottle feed all that gubbins will take up room.

Storksak bags are gorgous but being leather pretty heavy to carry and I hated using them if it rained as we are big walkers rather than car dropper-offers.

I'm now using a small across body bag (in every colour!) for my purse, keys etc and bought a cath kidston saddle bag. Actually that's not quite true, I didn't like it as there was no main zip to close the bag so I returned it and bought one off ebay that is CK oilcloth (wipe clean - genius!) but insted of being 68 quied was about 20! It is slate grey woth cream spots and leather trims. One half holds nappies/wipes/mat/sacks/cream/first aid kit and the other there is a fabbi middle divide) for spare pants for dd, sweets, 3 apples or bananas, bottle of water, etc.

Sorry can't do links

I got this one Koo-di Spotty bag.

I love it, its about the size of a bowling bag, I can get a fruit shoot in the bottle holder, a bag of crisps, cake bar and a bar of chocolate in one of the internal bags. 2 nappies, nappy bags and a travel tub of Sudacrem in the other internal bag. And I can fit a travel size bag of wipes, a hand gel and the Johnsons baby sun block in the section at the back with the travel mat.

I paid £15 for it because I had lots of Tesco points. I wouldn't advise getting a massive thing for hanging on the back of the pushchair like I've seen people with, it's all just more hassle for when you need to fold it or want to go out without the pushchair (which will not take long my son isn't even 2 yet and he all ready walks down the local shops and back). better off with something compact that can be chucked under the pushchair, hung on one or both handles or just put in another bag.

Ryoko · 13/04/2012 16:23

BTW you should just look at Amazon as they have loads and reviews.

brighthair · 13/04/2012 16:25

My friend has a pacapod one in brown which her and her husband really like

With ds1 I just used the free bag that came with the buggy. I really didn't like it, it had a flapover top, so was difficult to get things out of one handed (ie when carrying ds1), and didn't have a secure pocket for my purse. Plus, it was brown, which dh liked a it wasn't girly, but he only used it about twice.

With ds2 I treated myself to a radley one in their sale (it's no longer on their website so I can't link to it) for about £60 (still the most I I've spent on a bag). It's grey, nylony, so wipe clean, has a long, detachable strap and two carry handles. Lots of different pockets, some inside and some outside, including two with a zip for purse and keys, etc. The clever bit it's that you can extend the main compartment with zips, so you can keep it smaller for everyday, our make it larger when you need the extra storage. I love my bag!

5babyangels · 13/04/2012 22:45

Have you thought of punk lining yummy mummy??? I have one for sale, used but in good condition with brand new bottle warmers. Wink

whitelillies · 13/04/2012 22:49

i have one of these it s lovely! here

wheresthepopcorn · 13/04/2012 22:50

What is the budget? I got a Storksak Nina and it's just the right size and less expensive than most of the storksaks.

MoonlightandRoses · 13/04/2012 23:54

You don't really need oodles of 'stuff', so I went for a large compartmentalised decent leather handbag for me (well, one half for me, the other for baby stuff) and grabbed a cheapie black nylon one with changing mat from Mothercare for DH.

However, I have been known to manage a one week trip on hand-luggage, so may 'edit' my requirements more than most (trick is to plan all outfits to work with a single pair of shoes...)

It has worked well so far Grin

I do like the babymule ones, they do seem a bit bulky though, decided to get the babymel quilted one though as i was telling my mum about it and she said she had £30 amazon voucher she didnt really want and i could have it, so really it will only cost me £20.

I do love the pink lining bags too, if it were just me on my on id choose the one with butterflies all over, but as dp wil be using it too sticking to boring black for now! thanks for all your help Smile
