I think I want to get my colours done?

I've read so many posts where people say this is the best money they have ever spent, so am thinking of treating myself :)

Can you recommend any companies (in or around Edinburgh area)? How much should I expect to pay?

I have a bit of weight to lose, and was planning to do this for a "reward" when I lose my first stone. Is there any reason to wait until I have got to my target weight?

Thanks in advance :)

I recently lost a lot of weight and I had my colours done as I slimmed down because I needed a new wardrobe anyway and wanted to make the best of the opportunity.
If you are losing weight you can buy cheaper clothes and still look good if they are the right colours for you.
I didn't use House of Colour or Colour Me Beautiful though, but went to an independent image consultant.
You can find a local one here: www.tfic.org.uk/
I was very skeptical but it has made such a huge difference to me!
Do take the plunge, I'm sure that you won't regret it!

Hi - I went to House of Colour and although it was a disappointment at first because I am a spring and my wardrobe was bl*ck, I am getting used to it. Having your colours done, then later, having your style personality diagnosed, will repay your investment several times over by preventing the purchase of random stuff just cos you like it/saw it on a friend/sleb etc. I have just returned from my first post style/draping holiday, and I am delighted to say that I made none of the usual 'bought it on holiday' clothing mistakes. Absolutely no need to wait until you have lost weight - in fact, seeing the effect the right colours have on you might make you care less. HoC colour analysis is £99. Style day £135. There are all kinds of opinions about companies and stylists, and I'm not sure that it really matters - the outcome should (ought to) be the same. Go for it - it's fascinating.

Thanks everyone. I am going to treat myself to get this done... I need to be able to leave my breastfed baby, so will either need to convince him to take a bottle, or wait until he's a good bit older (only a couple of weeks old at the moment). That might not be a bad thing, as I might make this my 'reward' for weight loss, and if I am a smaller size then I will be happier to spend some money on clothers, which otherwise feels a bit wasteful if I'm going to diet out of them in a few weeks
