I need some reasonably cheap, comfy shoes. They need to go with trousers, not too high as I am quite tall (and quite old with a dodgy back Grin) so maybe small wedge? all the ones i see are 'old lady shoes' as dd1 describes them! They also can't have clippy cloppy heels/soles as I am walking round exam halls.

So......not too expensive, Comfy, fashionable, silent shoes........how hard can it be Confused oh and not boots!

Thank you

Don't cry Grin! Ballerina flats, not pointed but not bulbous or too rounded either. M+S is a good place. Also, try all high st for a style/colour you like in your price range. They're everywhere! Link to ones you like on here and ask for opinions if you're unsure. IMHO, wedges can look a bit 'more mature' if they are too low. Good luck.

Yes low wedges are definately maths teacherish (that is a word)

Are you a maths teacher? Grin

I would befiantely go for ballerinas or maybe even these.

I would second the M&S advice - their Limited Collection and Autograph ranges are good and not only are they reasonably priced, they also come in half sizes if that is a consideration. Surprisingly, some of their "footglove" styles are OK. I put a very stylish lady in a pair the other week as she had a lot of walking to do so needed to be comfortable but fashionable and their wider fit range has some OK styles too. Good luck and please don't cry!

Oh my no, I am rubbish at maths Grin.

I do usually wear ballerina flat type of shoes (when I am not wearing boots - which I live in in the winter!), but I need a small heel with the trousers I have as they drag on the floor otherwise. I just thought that wedges might be softer and easy to stand for long periods in?

I do like those that you linked to actually Tea. Will have a look at the M&S site too.

what about some brogues? something like these perhaps slightly higher?

reliablemillipede · 12/04/2012 00:26

These look quite comfy, but are they perhaps too high ?

Also, what colour were you looking for ?

Polgara2 · 12/04/2012 08:07

mythical that link just takes me to the front page?

reliablemillipede I like those, but yes they might be too high, would have to try them on I think. Probably best to get black.
