Can you get nude tights which don't look old ladyish?....

Hello!

I already have a thread going about a style dilema I have and I really didn't want to bare my legs, but black tights seem a little wrong for this time of year.

So, on lots of recommedations, I went and bought a few pair of nude tights and they look bloody awful. It's so obvious that i'm wearing tights and they just look so unattractive.

Does anyone know of a brand which look completely natural?

Wedding receptions tomorrow so i'm panicing i'm going to have to go bare legged!Confused It wouldn't be pretty!

LadyC - I wear nude micronets for work. Partly as I am a klutz and they resist my knocking into computers and furniture. No one noticed until I was sat in the back of a cab with colleagues one day

How easily do micronets snag and ladder? I'd be SO gutted to snag a pair of tights that cost £20, would ruin my whole outing...

I won't even wear 'normal' £3 tights as the laddering thing pisses me off so much.

CMOTDibbler · 12/04/2012 14:10

They are very resistant, and don't ladder - at worst, you get a single hole.

I have a pair of Wolford micronets that I bought in 2007 that are still going! They have a couple of holes in from where I've snagged them (usually when hoiking them up pissed) but they're up towards the waist so still wearable. As CMOT says they don't ladder, they might snag into a small hole but they're pretty hardy.

....Meant to say, DON'T put them in the washing machine tho - hand wash them or they catch on things.

BonfireOfKleenex · 12/04/2012 15:02

thanks folks, they sound pretty sturdy then

emsyj · 12/04/2012 15:07

You only have to rinse them through in the sink with a bit of soap/shower gel...

Then sling them on the radiator. Classy!

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 12/04/2012 15:15

I wash tights in the machine (disclaimer though: haven't had micronets for ages and can't remember machine-washing experiences with them).

I put delicate things like tights, bras, delicate clothes or items with dangling straps/ties etc in a washbag.

Touch wood everything's always been fine.

BonfireOfKleenex · 12/04/2012 15:18

I could just keep them on while I have a shower, that might work?

emsyj · 12/04/2012 15:18

That is GENIUS.

BonfireOfKleenex · 12/04/2012 15:21

Or, or, you could scrunch them up into a ball and use them as a washing pouffe in the bath - two cleaning jobs for the price of one!

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 12/04/2012 15:31

Genius, Bonfire!

emsyj · 12/04/2012 15:37

Don't joke - a pair of old tights with a bar of soap in the toe was a cleaning miracle according to my gran... Bless her.

CMOTDibbler · 12/04/2012 18:26

I try and wash my tights in a net bag, but as long as my micronets don't go in with velcro or zips, they survive the machine perfectly well
