If it's for spots/blemishes rather than under-eyes I use a plain old common or garden No 7 stick in extra fair. Need to moisturise well beforehand but it blends very nicely with a few taps of the finger. Bit too chalky/dry for under eyes though I think.

I'd like it for spots/blemishes and ideally also for putting above my eyes as a "help the eyeshadow stay on" kind of thing.

The one I have been using (that has just run out) is Benefit "stay don't stray" which is designed for helping eye makeup stay put, and I've also been using it as an occasional concealer.

I've always used Witch concealer, you can get it in Boots usually by the other Witch skincare products, and it comes in a few shades. It's quite waxy and creamy in texture and has an antiseptic smell - and works like a twist out stick thing; really good product. I hope they haven't discontinued it.

I didn't know you had to wear foundation in order to use concealer Blush
I use Benefit Lemonaid to brighten up dark circles, it's good. Am I doing it wrong?

By Terry Touch Expert is great!

MAC ProLongwear concealer is really nice. I wouldn't use a witchhazel based concealer for eyelids. The skin is very delicate and it could dry it out. Ok to combat blemishes though.

You don't have to wear foundation in order to wear concealer but I thought I would specifically describe what I intend to use it for.

I don't want a waxy tube stick. I want something more liquid than that. I also don't want "brightening", because I don't want my blemishes or eyelids to be shiny and lightreflecting.

ggirltwin2pinot · 10/04/2012 10:03

There's an Estée Lauder one in a blue tube with gold lid that I use. I can't see what it's called because the name has rubbed off. It's really good, doesn't slip off and can be used without foundation.

Havingkittens · 10/04/2012 16:34

That sounds like Doublewear concealer to me cartoonjane

BusinessTrills · 10/04/2012 16:38

Thanks for the suggestions

Laura Geller

It will last you ages as you only need a tiny bit.

Cartoonjane & Havingkittens I think the one in the tube is 'Disappear' - I quite like it too but last time I went to the EL counter they had sold out so I bought the Double Wear concealer (which comes in a transparent lipgloss style tube with a gold lid and a dovesfoot wand) and I think I prefer it - it's a very liquid texture (less creamy) and sets quickly then becomes pretty firmly fixed.

I believe Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage is very good also, but never tried it myself.

PuffPants · 10/04/2012 19:24

Max Factor Finishing Touch is good. Just a concealer not a highlighter.

PuffPants · 10/04/2012 19:26

Oops, sorry, it's actually called Master Touch.

OneHandFlapping · 10/04/2012 19:29

Don't bother with the Clinique one. I've found it impossible to blend at the edges into anything approaching a natural look - and that's with foundation.
