Time out from fake tan, help me find a pale foundation

I've decided I'm going to try and embrace my paleness.
I've always reached for fake tan as I don't like my pale skin, it has a blueness to it and I don't like it. But I'm going to try and learn to love it, but I need help n advice.
Where do I start with foundation? Alot of pale ones are too chalky, can anyone recommend any? But I don't want to spend too much.
Plus concealer and blusher/bronzer?
I'm thinking 'natural english rose'.

Ok - I use a No7 one. I hate number 7 but have to admit they have a pale colour in Lift and Luminate ( I think it is that one). It is the only one of theirs that has the extra pale and it actually gives nice finish and some dewiness and no chalkyness whatsoever.
I found Bobbi Brown and the other faoundation faves were just too yellow.

In terms of concealer the best I have found is Rimmel. The plain old stick that costs a few quid. It's pale and creamy and has none of the dreaded orange/olive tones/yellow.

I spent some crazy amount having foundation and concealer mixed by prescriptives but actually these two staples are a better pair.

I also have greyblue colour. 'Aint it great? Hmm

Blusher - stick to creamy/beige/orangey. Any rose type pinks just brings out the blue of our skin and makes eyes look sunken (imo). If you are as pale as me - and I bet I can challenge you Grin - then your blusher does as a bronzer. Just applied with large brush all over very sparsly.

HTH

I've never tried a No.7 foundation before, will take a look. Haven't used a Rimmell stick concealer in a very very long time. Do you use it around your eyes?
I am very blue skinned, you can really see the bags under my eyes, it's horrible. But am going to try and go without fake tan, fingers crossed.

I only tried it as I was caught in one of those £5 voucher loops where you keep buying things but keep getting another nad buying another and getting another and buying another......

Rimmel sticks. The make up of our youth, no? They are a classic!

I don't have under eye issues so I'm not sure how it would work there. Might be too heavy. I'd suggest dabbing it on your finger and warming it so it's soft and light.

I find the foundation covers my eyes ok tbh. Ask them for a sample - they might have one or give you a bit in a pot. DONT ask for them to try it on you - I looked like a loon when they slapped it on.

If you ditch the tan and embrace the pale then you might find you apply your foundation in a different way. So I only really apply to the T-zone to even me out.
The rest of my skin is fine, in good nick, doesn't need a colour change to match my foundation and therefore doesn't need foundation. In turn your eyes shouldn't look at circled.....and generally you need less make up on.

Magic!

Also - did you know that annusol is bloody amazing for dodgy undereye areas? It causes small vessels to narrow which is why it helps with piles. So if you have bags or any issues pop a bit on and see if it helps.

Strange but true. A consultant told me that so it must be true.

Definitely try Clinique!! I have really pale skin and i'm their 01. It's the Even Better range. It's not amazing coverage, but it's good enough assuming you don't have problem skin. It has a nice dewy finish. I love it!

alwaysrunninginheels · 10/04/2012 16:05

Bobbi brown does a good range for pale skin(i am almost blue white in the depths of winter). And they give away giant sized samples if you ask to make sure its the right shade. The assistants are really good and i have never felt pressured to buy anything. But i wouldn't buy anything without getting a decent sample first so i can see it over a few days in different light and with an honest friend!

Right I'm going to visit Bobbi B n Clinique, see what's on offer
The problem is that I don't want to spend toooo much
Also, what about blusher n concealer
