please don't say it's hideous

It's for a couple of semi dressy do's. I have black peep toe heels which will have to do as I can't afford new shoes, and a black/silver clutch. Please put me out of my misery.

I think Random's dress is a great suggestion. Order a load and see what looks best!

drywhiteplease · 06/04/2012 17:39

megatron I read somewhere that ladies blessed with great bosoms should avoid high necks and go more for v. Randon' s dress might be better shape for you. Petite is good and with curves you lucky thing!

drywhiteplease · 06/04/2012 17:48

How about a bit of colour?
purple?
Or
jade or purple

Have checked DP's site and most of those dresses are in stock in my local branch so I shall be there at 9am tomorrow morning! Will report back and thanks for all your help and comments. Smile

Well thanks to the lovely Random I bought this one this morning!

Yay!

It's very flattering but now I need advice on how to style it. It's jersey material so I was a bit worried if it would be dressy enough but I think it will with the right accessories so once again, I need help! Smile Oh and I definitely need recommendations on a slip to go under it as it's quite fitted.

I did try the original one on that I posted and it is beyond hideous, it fabric is awful and it looks cheap and nasty. The static was terrible.

I have an additional problem in that I ran out early this morning sans make up and had the shock of my life when I caught sight of myself in a shop window. When did I turn into Tommy Lee fucking Jones, how the hell did that happen?

Glad it looks good on, sadly I am not very good at accessorising Sad

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/04/2012 15:57

Where are you going to be wearing it? I'd be inclined to keep it fairly simple: nude fishnets, your black peep toes, a big silver cuff and perhaps a grey suede bag with a silver chain, or maybe a grey suede clutch?

bigpants103 · 07/04/2012 20:35

M&S do a underskirt/holdy in type dress thing that you can wear as an underskirt. It is about £28 but I've worn mine so much. It's got a rubber trim round the inside so doesn't move up. Gives a really good stream lined, bump free look to a dress.

Megatron · 07/04/2012 20:41

Bigpants do you have a link please?

The bag I have is a silvery/grey sparkly clutch which I hope will be OK? What should I wear round my neck though? Should I go chunky or something like my Alex Monroe baby bee? I've never worn nude fishnets, would they look ok with a peep toe? I know, I know so many questions but as you can tell I'm pretty clueless! Smile

slip is this it?

I think nude fishnets under peeptoes would be good in a sort of 1940s kind of way - but others may disagree! Will you be wearing earrings? If you're wearing earrings and a bracelet, I wouldn't bother with a necklace as well.

Megatron · 07/04/2012 20:55

I'm not sure Remus, I thought I would wear one or the other but don't know which. My hair is in an inverted bob (boring I know Smile) and I find earings get a bit lost unless they are huge which I don't really suit. God you'd think I'd never been out before. :)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/04/2012 21:43

Well I have no idea what an inverted bob IS, so it could be the latest thing, as far as I know!

mrsebojones · 08/04/2012 07:24

Love the dress choice. I'm 5ft and think dp petite dresses fit really well.
Agree that the nude fishnets and peeptoes will work well.
Stick with the silver cuff.
I personally would go earrings or necklace. Not.both.
I have an inverted bob how very dare you!!!! mine is sort of jaw length at the front. For a night out, I wear the parting quite far to one side and tuck one side behind my ear so earrings could be seen?
Maybe add interest with a coloured clutch?

drywhiteplease · 09/04/2012 17:38

Great dress meg ....I too have an inverted bob....not boring, tres chic!!
