Hi I was wondering if anyone used these colour depositing conditioners and had any thoughts...they are expensive so I'm a bit apprehensive about buying in case I make the wrong - expensive choice! I have auburn hair with natural blonde highlights to hide the few greys that I have. I am not sure whether to go for the madder root one - or is this very red? Or the chamomile one - but will this help masks the greys? If anyone has any experience of using these I'd be very grateful. Or any suggested alternatives...

I've been using John Frieda's Go Blonder for the last week and have been impressed without how much it has brightened my existing highlights and gently lightened my (naturally dark) roots. It doesn't contain peroxide - just lemon balm & camomile as active agents. It has also left my usually dry hair much softer and fuller.

I have been using thev one for brunettes. I am not sure how much difference it makes, although thinking about it, the geys are harder to spot! I use it once a week or so. It does come out bright red and if falls on shower floor looks quite odd!

i used a red john frieda one ages ago, it was very runny and hard to use and made a real mess in the shower, stained the curtain and the grout. I only used it once and binned it because of the mess.

I don't know about the aveda conditioners but I use superdrugs colour effect shampoo, they have several different shades for blonde and dark hair. It blends in my grey and looks really natural as I'm not ready to commit to using a permanent colour yet...

Oooh that sounds like another option magicmayhem thank you. I'm too scared to try and colour my hair at home myself permanently and want something that will just add a bit of colour in between the occasional expensive trip to the hairdresser for highlights...i feel a shopping trip coming on!
