London shops

I've booked a weekend in London for some shopping. First time i've dedicated an actual 'shopping weekend', usually i just run into Selfridges during a working trip. As we have all the usual high street shops here in Scotland, i'm looking for other shops that i really should visit. My usual wardrobe is Whistles, Reiss, Great Plains sort of level (and price). Like unusual clothes but as a size 14 can't really get a lot of fashion pieces to fit. Oh yes, thats the other thing - only shops that won't have security escort me out for being a size 14 :) Unlike a shop in Milan when i was told ' we have nothing for you here' - delightful!

If it were me, I'd be heading to Uniqlo and Cos. Not being from London, I can't help you further but hopefully others will give you some local tips! I've heard there are some gorgeous boutiques around Notting Hill

I love a shop called Adolfo Dominguez, which is in the Covent Garden area. I'll find you the address in a second and post it here.

I second COS and Uniqlo you cab book a stylist at some branches of COS which could be helpful as often I'm not sue how to style their clothes. Uniqlo for basic see what you like and you could order online in the future.

Awesome, we have a teeny COS in glasgow but no Uniqlo and that boutique looks great. Thanks!

Marylebone High Street or Westbourne Grove are both particularly lovely for a Sunday potter/shop, with some high st shops (reiss, whistles, jigsaw type), and lots of independent boutiques. Both areas good for a lunch pit stop too (Le Pain Quotidien on M High St, and Tom's or 202 on W Grove) You could also start at the baker st end of Marylebone High St and work your way down to Selfridges. Happy shopping!

Fenwick on Bond Street also has a good selection of brands, from the better end of the high street to designers.

The adolfo dominguez shop is very near the really nice Cos shop in Covent Garden. There is a really good Zara there too and a geox shoe shop (I love Geox).
