Please help - I am so country bumpkin-ish

I desperately need help please from you stylish bunch...

I am down in London for a couple of days with work and have no idea what to wear out for a casual dinner in the evening. (Bearing in mind that I am usually in my jammies at home by 7pm )

I have some skinny jeans/jeggings but that's it. Also have some brown, tall Timberland boots but not sure if they are a bit wintery now. My usual style is a fairly frumpy jeans/leggings, t-shirts, waterfall cardigans.

I am 5ft 4 and an apple shape - big boobs and a size 18 top half. I keep looking at blazers but have never really found them very flattering and don't know what to wear underneath. And, at the risk of sounding like my mother, I feel like I should have a coat of some sort and not a flimsy jacket.

I really want want to be the one hiding in black trousers and a black top but don't know where to start without looking 'overdone'. I am also useless at applying make-up but that's a whole other thread.

I am a country mouse .... I even look frumpy here in Yorkshire in the country(ish) so I don't think I will venture down to London.

I think sometimes you feel overdone if you try anything different at all - I know i do - but really people aren't staring and you just look nice.

have found my country self (jodhs and riding boots) in town before and it is an odd feeling but I probably started an equestrian trend or something

I think the only advice I'd give as a Londoner is don't try too hard. Skinny jeans with a nice top or tunic will be fine.

Plenty of people still do seem to be wearing boots here - but if it's warm I'd personally go for ballerinas or some Converse like shoes.

You don't need a blazer for a casual dinner. Probably will need some sort of coat, though - perhaps a trench coat or parka that don't look too 'Land's End' like .
