grrr. bought a lovely navy jersey dress from mango this week. sorry can't find online to link. 100% vicose. clung all the right places, really flattering. i'm a 12, but the medium was just too tight so went for the large which seemed just right. wore it today, started off great, by the end of the day it had lost all it's cling. gah - gutted. it's in the wash now, so maybe it will reshape itself.

is this par for the course with cheap jersey? did i make a rookie mistake choosing the large over the medium?

am tempted to go back to the shop and ask for a smaller size.

what do you reckon? really annoyed, know mango stuff isn't going to last forever, but was hoping it could last the day.

I'm guessing its because it doesn't have any elastane (lycra) in it, so the jersey sags a bit through the day, just as a t-shirt would. It should be fine again after washing but will probably do the same things every time. It might shrink slightly when washed though which could make a teeny bit of difference. If it really is bagging badly and you wouldn't wear it then take it back, Mango should refund you.

it's 100% viscose, so yes, guess you're right. never had a jersey dress before, should have got the medium.

will try tomorrow at shop and see what happens. nowt to lose and all that.

Take it back definitely.

I had a 100% silk jersey wrap dress and it didn't sag too badly but viscose can be softer and more floppy. It does stretch easily.

is it weird to take it back and try to get an exchange to a medium?

i really really like the dress and am hoping that in a smaller size it would still cling to key parts of me. and overall effect would still be good. am i making any kind of sense? basically, it doesn't sit at my hips or waist now, and i'm thinking that a medium might do that even when the jersey has given a bit by the end of the day. in which case is it my fault for buying the wrong size?

cause i could go in a kick up huge fuss about poor product and ask for refund and the sneakily buy smaller size. OR i could ask for exchange to medium which they could claim is my fault and rather than rubbish quality

and then sneakily, sorry

I'd just go for a refund but have no idea about mango policies or quality

You could ask to change for the medium but make it clear that if the medium also sags too much you will then want a refund. That seems the best thing to do as you like the dress so much.
