Beauty Experts Needed - Aspirin Mask Reaction - Help!!

Right, I did the aspirin mask - crushed them up, mixed with natural organic yoghurt and honey and all that. Put it on face. Left it on for 20 mins. Took it off gently with a warm flannel. Looked fab - very pleased. Smooth skin, tightened pours etc. All good. That was Sunday.

Now to today... I've woken up with a pale red rash all along my lower cheek, jaw line and top of neck that is peppered with small, pale 'whiteheads'. That's in inverted commas as they are just under the surface and watery (sorry). It looks like mild acne and I have never ever had anything like it before. I get the occasional blemish and blackhead but my skin has always been one of my better features. It looks horrible Sad.

Any tips as to how to get rid / calm it down? It's really obvious Sad Sad

(it has occurred to me that this is what is supposed to happen after the mask - that it is getting all the rubbish out. But any tips as to how to calm it greatly received Sad)

I don't know sorry! Didn't want to read and run though. Hope it sorts itself out soon.

Actually - make up alley (reviews website) might be able to help as they have lots of pages on that.

Thank you! Will go and investigate....

tbh I wouldn't expect any contact reaction to be delayed by that long. Perhaps you are reacting to something else that is affecting your skin now that the gubbins has been stripped off it? I often get this reaction to chemical sun-protection (as opposed to the lovely white zinc stuff). Drink lots of water, take an antihistamine and don't use anything too fancy until it has cleared up.

And it won't look so bad to anybody else.

Hmm.. interesting theory - I have started using a new serum. But these are spots - not a 'reaction' as such if that makes sense.

But take your point - deeply exfoliated skin + new serum could very well = spotty reaction. Will monitor.

Thanks for replying.
