Excited about Clinique 3-Step

I usually use whatever I can get hold off for my face, budget really doesn't allow much.

I have very, very dry skin which is sensitive as I also have eczema. Been wanting to try this for a long time and it's just been bought for me as a gift. :)

I have the type 1 kit and can't wait until tomorrow so I can test it out!

I hated the Clinique 3 step.

Hated the cleanser/soap which made my skin feel really dry, the toner was like acid on my skin and the moisturiser was waaay too rich for me and it just sat on my skin.

I have got oily skin but Clinique made it feel like parchment.

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 17/03/2012 22:48

I used to use the Clinique 3 step and it was great for my skin then (20s) but now I am a Dermalogica girl. It is amazing stuff, but bloody pricey.

lilbreeze · 17/03/2012 22:56

The moisturiser didn't agree with my skin - make my eyelids go all flaky. Maybe I should really have used a separate product around my eyes but I've never had this happen with any other moisturiser.

I was really excited about it too, it seemed so grown up to me. That was in my 20s. Smile

I'm now an Avene girl, so much cheaper and lasts for ever. If you don't get on with Clinique, Avene would be great for dry and sensitive skin. On 3 for 2 at Boots as well.

Hope you get good results with it.

You will either love it or hate it.

I have used it for years - personally the clarifying lotion (not toner!) was the MUST have and kept me spot free for a couple of decades. Getting older and my skin has changed so not as necessary at it was but there was a time when if I went a day without it I ended up with spots.

The soap took me a bit of a while to get used to and really I prefer their liquid cleanser. Ive never been THAT impressed with the moisturiser compared to other brands, but then until recently I havent felt I needed moisturiser at all, the gel is nicer than the cream one .

Oh and if you do become a regular buyer watch out for the "bonus times" I only EVER buy when I get a bag of freebies too!

QuinnFabray · 18/03/2012 08:29

Astreetcarnamedknackered, out of all the products on this thread that I've tried, Liz Earle is the only one that consistently breaks me out.

nobutyeahbut · 18/03/2012 09:28

I love it and have used it for years...let us know what you think.

Good tip re bonus time and if you know anyone going off to the U.S a large bottle of Clarifying lotion was only $18.00 out there last year - much cheaper!

VickityBoo · 18/03/2012 09:54

Thanks for the comments, so mixed as I'd expect.

Well I haven't tried it yet as I went to have a wash and dp took over the bathroom so I'll report back later!

Oh I was told its not for use on the eyes.

I am a big fan of Clinique 3 step (I'm type 3 for oily skin). The clarifying lotion definitely is a chemical exfoliator and not a toner. I know some people find it harsh but personally I love it. They do say if the clarifying lotion is stinging then you are using the wrong type... Hope you get on with it :)

Megatron · 18/03/2012 16:17

I've only been using this system since last Tuesday and I swear I can see a difference already. I know what people are saying about the toner as it does seem a bit harsh and 'chemically' but it seems to be working for me. I'm 45 and my skin is combination/dry but I'll def be carrying on with this.

VickityBoo · 19/03/2012 07:24

Grr SadAngry

All of my things in the kit are for type 2 skin, dry/combination. I have type one I don't need a diagnosis to tell me, very dry to dry.

Means I'll have to take it back. I tried a little before I realised but still have receipt/packaging I hope it'll be okay. It should as I was wrongly sold it, right?

Iirc Clinique have a 30 day return policy. Take it back and get a type that suits your skin.

VickityBoo · 19/03/2012 07:33

That's great to know thank you. The shop is a 50 minute round-trip but it's the second closest town so I don't have much option! Maybe I'll pop over later today.
