Got a wedding to go to in 2 weeks time
Need a stylish outfit
Must minimise waist region - I do not want to be asked when the baby is due as he is nearly 1

Planning to shop tomorrow - in London
Might brave Ox St - any suggestions?

Monsoon should be your first stop for that kind of stuff, they have dresses which are very forgiving for the waist

HandbagAddiction · 01/02/2006 17:55

I would go to Whistles or Coast....

have a look in John Lewis - big clothes dept, surprisingly good, plus scrummy hats

Blondeinlondon · 01/02/2006 18:15

Just checked Monsoon online and nothing is grabbing me

Found a nice dress in LK Bennett last week but it is incompatible with my large boobs and an underwired bra

if you are coming into oxford st do try the marble arch M&S, autograph sometimes has some nice pieces.

hats in places like bhs/debenhams sometimes ok too, and cheaper

Twiglett · 01/02/2006 18:51

department stores

phone round and ask for a personal shopper appointment .. then sit back and let them scurry around bringing your outfits whilst you sip coffee

honestly .. it works

Twiglett · 01/02/2006 18:52

oo cod .. like that dress

bundy · 01/02/2006 18:52

oh yes, i had that when i got my own wedding outfit in harvey nicks.

Blondeinlondon · 01/02/2006 18:53

I would take identical outfit over the finding nothing to wear option!!

I am thinking back to other wedding outfits I have worn - most of which I didn't like and were last minute desperation purchases

I was contemplating trying to get a personal shopper appt at Topshop

OP posts:
bundy · 01/02/2006 18:55

topshop a bit flimsy, low quality imo for a wedding, but i suppose it depends what kind of wedding it is

littlemissbossy · 01/02/2006 18:56

Monsoon
Coast
Karen Millen?

Blondeinlondon · 01/02/2006 19:01

bundy - the reality is I will probably only wear the outfit once so on a cost per wear basis topshop is ideal

OP posts:
bundy · 01/02/2006 19:07

much better to buy something you will wear again though, surely? especially if you can find something like cod said, where you could use the jacket a lot and keep the dress bit for special occasions
