"The eyeliner enhancement has given my wife renewed confidence"

Er, I wouldn't go to them just for this comment. What the actual fuck?

What are you planning to have done OP? Is it eyebrows?
I am not sure about the place you linked to, definitely wouldn't be my choice from the pictures. I am sure you will anyway, but definitely ask to see an extensive portfolio of work and have a look at other options too.

Ah, I hadn't looked at her prices. Yes, they are quite steep.

I am seriously considering it too. Have been looking at these websites (london based) and can't decide who to go to as they all seem at the top of their game.

Tracie Giles, Karen Betts and Debra Robson.

So if anybody out there has heard of these people and can vouch for their work, please shout.

dana have never heard of those. but if you do decide to go for it, come back and tell me how you get on :)

I had brow and liner done years ago. regretted the liner but loved the brows, they looked totally 'natural but better' - have recently been thinking of having it done again actually. fwiw mine are naturally quite thick and v dark but aren't as 'filled in' as i'd like as my skin is so much paler than the hairs so this was perfect for me.

my friend still has hers done - hers are naturally pale and sparse and look way better and more natural now than when she used to make them up herself!

where are you?

There is only one woman in Britain to see for permanent eyebrows. Her name is Sophie Thorpe and she is in West London. It costs around £600 (sometimes less but rarely more) and will last 18 months or so before fading. I can PM you her number (if I can figure out how to PM!) but you can just Google her.

I've seen her myself for years (I have invisible blonde eyebrows and a bloody great scar across one of them). More importantly, we send all our models and celebrities to her. (I work for a creative agency that has a talent management division). Trust me, our company wouldn't risk revenue by sending our clients somewhere shocking.

She's also recommended by many of Britain's top dermatologists and oncologists (her speciality is restoring eyebrows lost to scars and chemotherapy).

I recommend her 100%. No relation or connection, she's just worth every penny to me.

Sorry, but I should have said that Sophie's "look" is very natural - they should look like your own eyebrows, but better. She doesn't do Coleen Rooney style 'lifts' or scouse brows.

You'll never get Sophie to name names but I know for a fact she does a certain chubby cook known only by her first name, and an actress who never married Hugh Grant. Check out their eyebrows to see her work Wink.

CakeandRoses · 17/03/2012 09:47

she sounds brilliant thomas but i'm obv being really dense - i can't work out who the chubby cook is - you don't mean N do you?

thomasbodley · 17/03/2012 10:36

Aye Wink. I know a rellie of hers so I know the quote on Sophie's website is true

CakeandRoses · 17/03/2012 10:43

aha - she's so gorgeously volup i don't think of her as a chubster

am seriously thinking of getting my butt (or rather my brows) over to west london

Oh my lord do not go there, it looks awful. My eyebrow hairs fell out years ago and I had them done here to the Chiswick branch They are brilliant and look very natural, not only in my opinion - people are gobsmacked when I tell them they are tattooed on. They say you should refresh them every year but mine are 2.5 years old and only now am I considering having them redone in a few months when I get round to it. It's expensive but worth paying for a proper expert.

I cannot tell you how it has improved by life. Pencils are all well and good but I was always rubbish at doing them, even though I'd spend ages trying to get them right (and they looked so false and theatrical) and was always checking my face constantly to see if I have rubbed part of them off/sweat had made them go weird etc etc. Life changing!

O M G

i will NOT be going there

she showed me a "portfolio" of work she had done. all awful. then when i asked (mainly out of politeness) do many people have it done, she said, Oh i have done quite a few, about 19 people (basically all the pictures in her "portfolio" Hmm ) then she said, everyones gotta start somewhere. Well, not on me love.

and it was going to be £300 ! Shock

AKiss - could the premature fading be the result of the cleansing products you use? I used to use an Olay cleanser with salicylic acid for a while and my eyebrows used to need a top up from Sophie every 12 months. Switched to OCM and they're lasting for 2 years at a time.

AKissIsNotAContract · 19/03/2012 19:59

Thomas: possibly, I don't think I use salicylic acid but I'll check. I'm going to see Sophie next time, thanks for the recommendation :)

Any more links to South coast ones please? I want to do this too, I'm sick of having to draw mine on every day. They were dark and I lost about 95% of them to alopecia, there's no natural line to follow so it's hard to get them symnetrical, a stress I could really do without in the mornings. I spend the day having to be careful not to touch them in case I rub them off. There's not enough hair to shape or tint.

Hd brows won't work if you have thin or barely have eyebrows, you'll need to pay extra to keep going back. Tattooed eyebrows look awful once your hair starts growing back in so please don't do it. There's many treatments you can pursue to help the hair grow

Report
pommiegirl · 07/11/2015 22:30

Plus the tint in hd brows are made to last a week so you have to go back
