Where can I buy a good supportive 36DD bra that walks that tightrope between frumpy and slutty?

I used to swear by HotMilk; my latest buy arrived last week and I was soooo disappointed; the quality was dire. So where do I try next? Am still bf but not too hung up on buying dedicated nursing bra as she is 14m now and only snacking at bed time.

I wouldn't touch M and S with a barge pole but budget sadly does not stretch to Rigby and Peller.

I have worn Freya for many years. The Arabella is good and you can get it in navy, cassis, red etc. on ebay too. Definitely not frumpy.

I have just bought a Freya bikini (Pier) from Asos - half price too.

Sob- I have always liked the look of the arabella

Agree on brands mentioned here (in particular FREYA my favourite for everyday I would definitely go to a BRAVISSIMO store if you can IT IS THE ONLY PLACE I WOULD GO FOR ADVICE & FITTINGS- there you will discover that all brands come up a different size and you'll get amazing help with identifying what really fits, all my favourite bras have come from there, including maternity and BF. Just look at the selection!

I also bought an excellent soft cup bra from John Lewis when I was pregnant- it was quite fifties style with the seam across the nipple, but it was cotton and good quality - My boobs looked VERY marilyn Monroe in that! It was in a box......may have been triumph (it was a complete surprise to me getting a fab bra out of a box!) had forgotton quite how much I loved it until now looked a bit like this!

Just a little warning if you are BF, be careful with underwire as unless you get a very good fit the wire could cause blocked ducts and all the fun and frolics that come with that. I moved back into an underwire before I stopped BF was SO fed up with having worn the SAME bra's for over a year!!! and probably wouldn't do it again because I did find it uncomfortable.

My mum wears Doreen brasshe orders them from the adverts in magazinesshe likes them.

OH yes! nearly forgot. Once you know your actual size (I am with the lady who went in saggy and came out pert - same thing at bravissimo) you can get lots of LOVELY brands at TK max and the larger and more unusual sizes are often in stock so always worth a look if you are passing but you know what a jumble sale it is at tk max

I'm also going to say Fantasie and Freya! Most of my bras are from one or the other and I find them great.

Triumph also good, and really supportive but not as pretty usually.

Arrr, the lovely doreen. Oldies but goodies. Felt SO sexy in that - it was either hormones or some secret desire to be the lovely Marilyn Monroe!

warmandwooly · 16/03/2012 20:23

YY to TK Maxx. Bought a Triumph bra there a few weeks back. Full price about thirty five quid. Price I paid about six quid.

Rigby & Peller - they sell most of the leading brands (Fantasie, Freya etc) so not necessarily pricey.

Bravissimo.
