Leggings for the more curvy figure

Am really struggling to find a pair of leggings to fit - if I can get them over my thighs & bum I'm left with excess inches around my waist and I don't want to be pulling them up every few seconds.

Please help!

This is a bit off-topic (well, slightly) but you do realise that skinny jeans or jeggings are hugely more flattering than leggings, don't you? I only recently discovered this and hardly ever wear leggings any more...

I now wear skinnies with a belt (to hold in the too big waist) or buy the high waisted style from Next, which is lovely and belly hugging.

I agree completely but I want leggings to go under a fitted jersey dress so I need as little bulkage as possible, almost like footless tights.

I just bought some M and S Indigo collection ones. Seamed. (WHY????).£12.50. Very good fit and stretch and the seams don't show (so I wonder why they are there). I am a 12 - 14 curvy type and they fit waist, hips etc properly. And as a bonus the 12 fits well! Properly dark but not too bulky. I wear them with a thin -ish jersey dress too

I didn't see the indigo ones - bought M&S size 12 yesterday but when I bent over and they slid down my arse.
Following advice from another thread I have bought some from Phase Eight about Phase Eight being more suited to a curvy figure, I had a look - I really didn't want to spend £20 but they fit really well - nice & tight around the calf, no baggy bits and secure around the waist without digging in.

Oh, I can't help then - I spend my life yanking leggings up over my fat arse, only for the waist to bag around and fall down again almost immediately! Grin

I have an absolute revelation about leggings.....

Do you suffer with leggings slipping down your tummy?,with them riding down and the legs dragging? do they look weird and feel uncomfortable leaving you pulling and hoisting every few minutes?

read on and gasp at my discovery........

maternity leggings are the way forward!!!!

I wear a 14-16 legging and am constantly adjusting them ......by sheer luck I tried some size 12 maternity leggings from Next - I will 'never' go back!!
all the young teens I know are very impressed and im awaiting shocked calls from their mums saying they are worried their dds are wearing maternity clothes....as theyve all bought them too.

Good tips about Phase Eight and Next maternity. I like to have leggings in summer to cover baggy knees! Sorry M and S didn't work for you

Really high denier tights with the toes snipped off (gives you an extra few cm of leg as well) works for me, the ends don't fray if the tights are decent quality.

Also swear by wearing two pairs at once (i.e. 2x 60 denier rather than a single 120 denier pair) as laying two weaves across another makes them super-opaque & matte. And weirdly feels less tight but more supportive than a single pair.

I've found Sainsburys leggings to be good, which is a good job as I rarely get the chance to shop anywhere else! Thick, non-shiny, and don't fall down.
