Need to boast about my charity shop find............................

I often have a nose in our local one for children's books and videos. Also had a rummage among the clothes and found a fab Donna Karan jacket in perfect condition - made from wool and silk. Black, short, very plain, very stylish, has a sort of 1950's look to it. Will go with loads of things!

£5 - a bargain.

Puff-I have had alot of these kinds of finds over the years.Am about to start selling designer second hand finds on ebay.

Best ever buy-A Louis Vuiton shoulder bag in the classic monogram for a £5.00!

A Paul Smith pure wool pencil skirt with a lace underskirt-£4.50.

A Junior Moschino jumper for £3.50

Some L K Bennett mules bought for £3.00 and sold for over £20.00 on ebay.

A lovely Press and Bastyne,(spelt wrong), skirt in Chocolate for £3.00.

And many other great finds!

I love the buzz of finding designer gems at rockbottom prices-I live in second hand shops!

How's the GI diet going, BTW?

Wow how lucky, where did you pick them up?

Very impressed, wanna go shopping with me sometime?

Dropinthe · 30/01/2006 18:37

I live in leafy South London-Woolwich to be precise but my best finds are in the second hand shops of Bexleyheath/Orpington/Petts Wood.
I am very lucky-I also get alot of new stuff with the labels attached which of course you can always get more money on ebay for.

There is (maybe used to be) a fantastic charity shop in Tunbridge Wells - Oxfam, I think. And nobody in there. Yet in my local charity shops, they are often full of crap (clotheswise) and yet plenty of people browsing. I still don't get it.

I got a fab navy wool Burberry peacoat in our local shop for £7

SorenLorensen · 30/01/2006 19:04

My best charity shop buy was a children's wooden lift top desk and chair for £20. Identical to this one, in fact, here and in perfect condition.

It's the first time I've bothered to look at clothes - everything else was naff, but for 10 mins going through the rails this was really worth it!
