How do I get the whispy bits of hair down my parting to LAY DOWN?

Help me please! I'm slowly dragging myself out of slummydom but still can't get the nasty whispy bits of hair down my parting to lay down and be lovely and smooth. I've tried smoothing and drying, intensive conditioners and a new cut, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions please?!

I started a thread about this a while ago. I now use hairspray in the mrning to flatten them and a bit of water at work if they spring up again. Seems to be working!

glossing serum and hairspray, never used to have this problem but since having ds2 im sure loads of my hair fell out whilst pregnant and is now growing in again!

yep, quick squirt of hairspray over parting and smooth down gently with your hand.

When you blow dry your hair, point the dryer downwards. Then if there are some still sticking up, spray a comb/brush with hairspray to keep them down.

Spray hairspray on the palms of your hands, not your parting, then run hands over hair. Don't forget to wash hands! Read it in a magazine, works for me anyway.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Bounce tumble dryer fabric conditioning sheets do the trick.. no idea if it works though...

Well if you were my mum addressing my sticky-up hair you would wet your fingers with your spit and bonje it flat with your fingers. Nice. (Not had this done for gone thirty years I should add...)

Or spray a comb with hairspray and smooth or I have used clear mascara for pesky bits in past.

Go and have a Brazilian blowdry!
