DH is fretting about his eyebrows.....

So I said I'd ask for help on here Smile

His eyebrows grow normally until about half way across, then they suddenly grow really long and stick up in the middle.

think owl

He doesn't know how to correct this and neither do I. He thinks he should try to stick them down with hairspray or wax/gel. I don't think that would work. This morning he said vaguely 'what about waxing' - he doesn't know what it is, he's just heard the word somewhere.

Before anyone suggests I shouldn't try to change him, blah blah blah, I don't care what his eyebrows look like, I'm fond of owls, but he is fed up with hie runaway brows.

Any suggestions? - You'd make a middle aged man very happy Grin

TIA

Can't you trim them with nail scissors?
Or ask barber to trim?

why won't my owl link work?

My DH has his eyebrows trimmed at the hairdressers when he's having a haircut, otherwise you could plait his eyebrows! Wink

My DS trimmed them once, when they weren't too bad, and I think he feels all the trouble stemmed from there.

yep - trim is the way to go, otherwise he will look like a ken doll (I'd rather have an owl...)

DH doesn't go to the hairdressers, because he's a tightwad he feels he can do a better job himself with a shaver. Hmm

So should I attack them with scissors tonight? Why do they grow so strangely - they didn't used to, is it old age creeping up? Are the eyebrows trying to compensate for the lack of hair on his head?

I think a lot of men have this. I have snipped DH's now and then, but trim one straggly hair at a time so it doesn't look too weird. Eyebrows and ears start to go a bit loopy around 50 IME

KurriKurri · 03/03/2012 20:19

That's a good idea - one hair at a time - I was worried about just chopping them, because that would definitely look odd.

The 'hair in his ears' ship has already sailed I'm afraid, - he's 51 Grin

I trim DHs eyebrows.

If he's really not keen on trimming you could get him some clear mascara. Or get some of those disposable mascara wands from makeup counters and use hairspray.

It's age I'm afraid! Regular trimming is the best way forward, comb them through first to make sure the shorter hairs are sitting neatly then carefully trim the top edge with small pointed scissors using the shape the other hairs form as a guide.
