As a child of the 80's I can remember the perfume samples you got in the pastic little cases. I think one might have been called Success.
I remember getting a mirror (still have it somewhere) from 19 magazine.
I remeber a plastic red heard with lipgloss from. Just Seventeen perhaps.
Best gifts: Anya Hindmarch pouches from Harpers
I rember when magazines used to give a diary at Christmas! The christmas diary must return!!

The Just 17 comb was fabulous. Mine was yellow.

And flexi discs...

Those strawberry flavour lipglosses that came in a clear rollerball applicator with Jackie (possibly) in the early 80s.

And the Smash Hits lyrics from the same era, god help me, I can remember some of them even today wanders off wailing Rock Lobster

i had a flexidisk of The Sun Always Shines on TV from Number One magazine, which I used to get on the weeks Smash Hits wasn't out. You have to put an enormous old 10p on the middle to stop it flying off the turntable. Sorry, ye turne-tabble of ye record player.

Oh, and... Not free, and not original, but thanks to an enterprising Smash Hits reader who organised a reprint via Twitter, I now have my very own Black Type commemorative tea towel! Wacky thumbs aloft! Picnic tables ahoy, etc!

I loved Honey

The best ones, the absolute best ones, were with Bunty comic in the 70s.

I checked the newsagents every day.

gilmoregirl - yes I still have that chunky comb from just seventeen, it has 'you're the nicest person I know' written on it. I guess I must have had it for 20 years now and it is kept in my swimming bag for untangling wet hair!
