Elemis moisturiser - thoughts on cheaper alternatives ? anyone

I've seen a lot of MNers raving about elemis pro collagen. I'm a convert too and am probably on my 5 or 6th pot. Problem is we are totally skint and I'm struggling to afford my next pot. So, can anyone recommend a cheaper alternative or a very cheap way to buy a large tub?

I have bought at an exhibition before and got a pot with other stuff. This made the individual items cheaper by 5o% but this also included stuff that I would not have originally purchased so I guess I still spent at least £100 for a 100ml pot. Oh and the exhibition this year doesn't include them.

Just scratching for ideas really, maybe alternatives? I'm after a very good moisturiser for someone mid 30s with dry skin.

I have bought it a few times, usually from QVC when they have a good offer on. I have kept the cream and given the other stuff as gifts Blush I found if you buy it from QVC occasionally they tend to let you know when there is another offer coming up.

Had to stop watching it altogether once my cupboards were filled with Elemis, Decleor and Loccitane goodies.

You can order online too, but the cheapest deals are usually when they have a Todays Special Value from them used to be around 4 times a year or so. There is a QVC beauty channel too - on sky, go to QVC channel, then press the ?red button for interactive IIRC.

I have weaned myself off and daren't look, sorry. Its good for bargin Philososphy stuff too

Plenty of cheesey tat, yes. But some good stuff as well. Compare prices though - esp with the postage as QVC is very ££ for P+P and charges per item/per set for postage with poor discounts for bulk buys.

I had some Liz Earle from there but only if there was a big offer, it is cheaper to buy direct from LE as set small postage per order.

Thanks! I like Philosophy too. Looks like QVC will be going on Favourites on the Sky box. Maybe this means I am now officially a housewife.

I am a massive elemis/qvc fan (I think other MN's actualls groan when they see me come on a thread because I just end up saying the same thing) so definately keep an eye out for big value sets - the one we have all been buying had £150 of value for £50 and if you had sold all the other bits in the kit you would have got about £40 so you would have essentially got a 30ml poy tor a tenner. (unfortunately it has gone now). The other place to look is ebay - you can expect to pay an average of £20 for 30ml but if you are a canny bidder you can get it cheaper.

qvc is ace - high P&P but loads of choice and you can return what you don't like - check out the brands page (I always buy from the web and you can watch it online too qvc brands)

I realised I didn't really answer the question though - cheaper alternatives. I have dry/very dry skin, also mid thirties. No other product is nearly the same, IMO, because of the lovely texture and smell of the Elemis.

But, other products I have got on with on a smaller budget are the Liz Earle moisturisers, Clinique (not much cheaper TBH) and the Garnier Ultralift ones in the red jars. Totally different to use but certainly worked ok for me. Philosophy hope in a jar is nice too.

Thanks ladies. I had rather thought there was nothing else (goddamit!). I'm off to log on to QVC and ask them when they're next on.

it is a pretty special texture - so light and nourishing at the same time - and you can use it around the eyes so you save money there too Grin
