I just can't afford it! :( :( £11 for that small tube is totally worth it not doable anymore

Can anyone find me a brightening moisturiser for cheaper please!!

If your budget is a bit tight at the moment, you may want to try the Aldi Lacura face cream. I have not tried it (yet!) but it consistently gets recommended on here.

cocobongo · 03/03/2012 12:13

well, it's on 3 for 2 at the moment, so only works out at £7.33 each..... does that make it sound more affordable? Wink

ameliagrey · 03/03/2012 12:49

I think you'd be pushed to find anything much cheaper- maybe Boots No 7 if you can find a £5 voucher( normally given if you buy something for a tenner in Boots.)

readyforno2 · 03/03/2012 12:55

Why don't you try eBay or another website you might get the same product only cheaper? Good luck

EllenParsons · 03/03/2012 13:54

Have you tried S&G Glow Job moisturiser? I don't know if it's as good as your one (I've not tried either) but when I clicked your link I saw it was a couple of quid cheaper, and a bigger 75 ml tube.

Try Boots Botanics? You can pretty much always get them on 3 for 2 and I find their stuff good for the price.

No 7 have a new Beautiful Skin range out. I got a face scrub with the £5 off voucher (+ got £2.50 bonus points on it from the extra offers kiosk) Taking into account the vouchers and points it effectively cost me 50p... and it was lovely! Worth looking at the Beautiful Skin moisturisers! They are not all that much cheaper than the S&G if you don't have the £5 off though.

EllenParsons · 03/03/2012 13:54

By the way you only need to spend a fiver to get the No 7 vouchers, not a tenner.

dingdong3 · 03/03/2012 14:18

The Neal's Yard rose moisture is gorgeous and is free with one of the magazines this month. I think it was Company magazine. It's a 50ml tube so is a decent size. And you get a magazine to read too!

jumpinghoops · 03/03/2012 14:34

Yes, I'll second the neal's yard moisturiser as a lovely one- I have combination, sensitive skin and it worked well for me. If nothing else you haven't really lost out if it doesn't suit you. A while ago the lady who served me in NY said it was great for many skin types.

RatDesPaquerettes · 03/03/2012 14:38

The Neal's Yard moisturiser is free with Marie Claire.

dingdong3 · 03/03/2012 15:20

Thanks RatDesPaquerettes I saw that many mags with gifts this am, I got confused..then DTD needed toilet in that panicked 3 yo way so I had to run. Totally forgot to go back to buy the magazine after that...duh
Yes, the whole rose range in NYR suits any skin type but is great for hormonal or sensitive skins as the rose has a calming/soothing effect. (used to be a NYR consultant! :) )

cantpooinpeace · 03/03/2012 15:24

I use super drugs essential range, does the job think it's 3 quid!

AmethystMoon · 03/03/2012 17:34

Simple daily moisturiser with SPF ( in a pot). Brilliant, smooth skin, absorbs well, all my dry patches banished, doesn't make my greasy bits worse like some can. And v cheap, around £5 I think. I get mine from tesco with my shopping. I use other more expensive brands for other products and could spend more on my moisturiser but choose not too. Better than ester Lauder £30 a pot I used to use! Grin

suebfg · 03/03/2012 19:45

I have the free Neal Yard's moisturiser with the Marie Claire magazine and by chance also bought the Soap and Glory product on the 3 for 2 offer. They are completely different products - the NY moisturiser is really light - so not great for dry skin.

I'd check out the Aldi face creams - I use their regular moisturiser at £1.99 and it's great. Also, they do a wrinkle filler and serum at £3.49 a pop.

Bunbaker · 03/03/2012 19:50

There was a link on another thread about moisturisers on here the other day. Basically, you don't need to shell out for an expensive moisturiser as all of them do the same job. The extra you are paying for is usually packaging, marketing and brand name.

Next time I go to Aldi I am going to buy some of their moisturiser.

Pearla · 03/03/2012 20:05

But some of them are a lot greasier than others. You have to find the right formula for your skin. Personally I use Olay day cream, think it's about £5-£8 (depending on offers) for a decent size bottle and that suits my combo skin. Will check out the Aldi stuff next time I'm there but I bought their deodorant once and it was very bad.

RubyFakeNails · 03/03/2012 20:08

I've tried every moisturiser going it seems, my favourite is Ponds Hydronourishing cream. Its about £4 from boots or superdrug and made my skin better than when I used something about 10 times the price.

You can also buy big vats of it online for about £15

Bunbaker · 03/03/2012 20:08

I agree Pearla. You do need to try them out to see if they suit your skin, but I still fail to see why anyone needs to spend £50 on a moituriser when one for £20, £10 or £5 will do the job just as effectively.

piratecat · 03/03/2012 20:17

i got the simple one here yesterday, and it's perfect for my 40 yr old, combi but mainly dry skin.

so soft

suebfg · 03/03/2012 21:43

The Aldi Lacura face cream is very good for the money. PS don't bother with their hairspray though as it's rubbish - sorry going off piste there

Bunbaker · 03/03/2012 21:49

Have you tried their serum as well suebgf?

MilkNoSugarAndAShotofWhisky · 04/03/2012 21:12

Unfortunately no Aldi nearby (Well, there might be but I've never seen it :o) ...although I've tried a few of their things before...and they were utter crap! :o

I wish I could justify the ££ as I do love it and don't wear make up...so don't have that to buy, but it's a silly amount weeps

hated ponds cream when I tried t...shame as it's cheap :o was to gloopy though

I like the Simple one but I don't feel it leaves my skin glowy! :( I do love the glowyness!

I haven't got on with No7 stuff in the past, but maybe I'll try some next time I get a voucher

Thank you all...my quest continues
