Used Crest Whitestrips for the first (and last) time!

I got the 2 hour express ones after all the good reviews on here! As it's my 40th on Saturday night. Ugh. Having them on was fine, no probs. Took them off, no probs. Two hours later I was in agony, my teeth were soooooo sensitive. Oh God it was horrible. In the end I went to bed at 9.30 after 2 paracetamol, praying it would wear off overnight. Also had to face DH's anger, who was highly critical of me using them in the first place.

Thank God I woke up this morning & the sensitivity has all but gone. There is no way in a hundred years I am doing anything like that again, and to top it all there is only a one or two shades difference in my teeth :(

I have learnt my lesson. Must try to not be so vain!

The gentle ones are great.

'as a friend' not as a dental nurse(not allowed to advise online) use a big brand sensitive toothpaste to brush with but don't rinse ours just spit out and use the toothpaste as an 'ointment' on tooth/gum margins whenever you can to soothe the sensitivity.i take it that as u used white strips u don't hav bleaching trays? coz if u did u cld use the sensitive toothpaste in them to further soothe. and alternate paracetomol and ibuprofen(if these are suitable for you medically) for the pain.finally you need a dental bleach from
the dentist containing hydrogen peroxide at least 10% for it to work

I've had laser whitening done and that hurt like hell too, although I wasn't warned. I'm sure you'll be fine. I find that the Dentyl mouthwash with clove oil in it works nicely against pain, it is the purple and blue one iirk.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I am OK now, it is barely noticeable & I'm able to eat, drink, brush teeth etc! But last night was a different story, I did do the thing with brushing with Sensodyne & not rinsing & also dabbed it on. I was nearly crying, both with the discomfort & the thought that I may have ruined my party, was just so mad at myself! But the fate gods were obviously smiling down on me...(now just need the frigging H & M parcel containing my kids' party outfits to turn up grrrrrrrrr)

But... are your teeth whiter?

Maybe by a shade or two?! Certainly not enough to notice to anyone else :( That just adds insult to injury!

A shade or two? that's good - no??

I had mine done at the dentists - also painful. But it's a good way to lose a couple of lbs ???

Nicole Did you have laser whitening or did you have the trays with bleach in (sorry don't know technical term)?

I've also started a thread about Crest strips, I really want to do something about my teeth as they are very yellowed from antibiotics my mother took when pregnant with me.
