Just marking my place, if you get one and try it, please come back and tell - I may get one for the weekend.

JoyceDivision · 01/03/2012 16:37

Sorry Joyce. Grin

KristinaM · 01/03/2012 18:55

No its rubbish for fine hair. I got one and its a waste of money

Sorry

JoyceDivision · 01/03/2012 19:29

Right, that solves that. I'll just buy a soft bristle round brush and start trying to control the hairdryer....

Thanks for the message KristinaM, do you mind me asking why it was crap? Did it just not help shape your hair at all?

I have fine (but lots of it) chin length hair and I love it. It just seems to give my hair more bounce than using a brush alone.

JoyceDivision · 01/03/2012 19:36

Oh, right then, might put the bristley brush back down....

I am absolutely useless an co-ordinating a hairdryer and brush, so much that I had very short hair for ages. I've just managed to grow it into a short bob (had it cust today after a 3 month grow out!) but want something easy to help my hair look reasonable when i go out or to work, as I know I won't be arsed waving the hairdryer about....

I've got fine hair and I find it really good. My shortest layer is chin length and it works well on it.

dodgyroots · 01/03/2012 19:50

I may be a bit too short I fear -but he new smaller diameter model 2777 (42mm as opposed to 50mm) might be okay

Here in in Argos but full price I'm afraid.

JoyceDivision · 01/03/2012 19:52

I have a £6 off £40 shop voucher for Tesco so might have to bob into our local store tomorrow and buy one there.. Bah, wish I'd bought one when they were £29!

I have short chin length layered bob, fine hair but lots of it and have the smaller barrel version from argos ,i really like it , works well on my hair.
Smaller barrel better than bigger for your length hair I think.
You still need to use a volumizing spray on the roots if you want volume , the bbh will create swishy hair and either curl it under or out depending on which way you want but getting root volume it won't do a great deal without some product.

JoyceDivision · 01/03/2012 20:08

Thanks, I'm not too bothered about volume, just the shape so it si straight and ciurls under, like you have used a rpound brush and hairdryer, really!

Buger that the smaller barrel isn't on offer!

ggirl · 01/03/2012 20:11

well the big one will be fine then , smaller one better but big one will do the job
why don't you book a blow dry with a local salon instead

JoyceDivision · 01/03/2012 21:58

Blow dry would be about 10 quid or 15 quid, for 40 quid I can constantly do my own blow dry! Plus dh and i will be like ships that pass in the night, as soon as he gets in i'll be out, so no one to look after dcs... 'twould be nice o pay to be pampered but think buying the thing so i can keep using it will be better...

The one i have has a big barrel so i cant get it anywhere near my roots to built volume.plus it makes my soft fine hair even softer and finer. And flatter. I ddint think it was possibel but it is Sad

Small barrel might overcoem these problems.

The womwn who love it seem to have loads of wild thick hair with layers. They say it tames them and makes it smooth and soft.Envy

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 02/03/2012 17:39

It works for me, my hair is very wavy, fine but a lot of it and with long layers to below the shoulder. I can't get it completely smooth and bobbed looking but it loosens my waves, makes it all look a lot smoother, does away with the frizzies and just makes it look more groomed. It's brilliant for my fringe which goes all wonky overnight. I am too lazy to use it all the time though, mostly only use it for my fringe and let the rest dry naturally.

Actually Kristina - you are describing me! Grin

KristinaM · 02/03/2012 18:12

Yet another reason to be Envy of you, who knowsGrin

KristinaM · 02/03/2012 18:12

I like my Babyliss Big Hair - bought from John Lewis as they do free delivery over £30

TIDDLYMUM · 02/03/2012 21:24

Do you have a costco near you and are you a member? I got mine from there about thirtynsh I think?

JoyceDivision · 05/03/2012 22:17

Bought one! Only had the big barrels in so bought one, and I have o be careful as my bob is quite short that It doesn't end up billowing out at the sides in an eighties fashion Grin

But it does help the front of mym bob smooth and curl under to frame my face, so worth it for that alone!
