stuck in a style rut.

I have worn jeans forever (hence the name!) i'm fed up of constantly looking the same , i always see women who look lovely in dresses etc but don't really know where to start to make the change.
I'm about 5 1" size 12 and id say an apple shape with no waist to speak of, how can i change without feeling too overdressed ? i work from home and just do school runs so don't need work wear and also what kind of things are good for this shape.
If anyone can help i will be eternally greatful!

robin what is it about your legs that you hate?
Mine are a whitish blue shade and come summer I get the Johnsons out.
Don't like my knees so don't wear dresses too short.
My legs are short so when I wear dresses in summer I tend to wear with a wedge for day.

MrsCB I don't hate jeans either, I love jeans - in fact I've just bought a new pair!

I just feel a bit boring, particularly when I'm on the school run and I often have the same coat on and a pair of jeans. Obviously I wear different jeans with different tops but because I have lots of pairs of skinny jeans and then the same coat most days I feel like I'm always in the same outfit, even though I'm not. I'll probably feel better in summer when I don't have to wear a jacket and people will see that I'm not wearing the same thing [paranoid].

My legs are very very white and veiny. I have quite a few thread veins and a varicose vein that runs down the side of my knee and I don't like my knees. It's ashame because they are slim legs and look ok in tights/leggings.

You see I'm a jeans obsessive - have many pairs and particularly like the premium brands. Am loving mih paris and j brand 811 at the moment.

I do agree though in winter its easy to feel samey especially when its really cold and am constantly in my duvet coat.

But now its spring (almost) and I have red, lavender, blue, pink and white skinnies ready to go.

I actually think its much easier to find dresses if you're pear shaped - I mean I have 'going out' dresses but they're DVF or whatever and a bit slinky for everyday.

But the white company do have the odd good thing. I am on a perpetual quest though for the perfect casual day dress . . .

Ooh, I forgot about the different colours that are in ATM! Ooh yes, good idea, that makes it a lot less "samey". I like the lovely bright colours .
