How to get long loose curls in my hair- help please!

I need something to help style my hair.
It s long and thick.
I have babiliss heated rollers but they take time- is there a quicker way?
I ve looked at styling wands and then get confused as there s such a selection.
Essentially I was long loose curls.
Does anyone have a wand recommendation or would the BBH work?
I ve tried the sock bun but I can't do it on my hair - it s too thick and long I can't seem to Mather the technique - I can't seem to catch all the hair in a tight enough roll.

do a couple of sockbuns on damp hair? GHD's do make for super shiny curls. You can also plait hair and run ghd's over them.

I have super thick long hair.
I sleep with two princess layer type of buns. I hairband then then split tist and wrap round.

Lovely end of hair curls.

Also do slightly damp and blast with hot hairdryer to help it set.

Thesevendwarf - so sorry I didn't read your first post properly! So I hope I haven't swayed the topic too much back to sock method, although, that said, have you seen the you tube one where they separate the hair into three sections and sock bun each one? That may work a lot better than just one sock bun, on your long and thick hair. (jealooooussss!)

Oh that s why you lot are fabulous! I would never have thought of something as damn logical as splitting it into 2 or 3 sock buns.
Ok off to trim some more sock and try it out Thanks !

I have long thick hair, the kind hairdressers comment on because it takes ages to dry. I have Carmel heated rollers, Babyliss Big Hair, GHD's and a Babyliss wave wand. The big hair is a waste of space on long thick hair and I've only kept it because it seems wrong to chuck it. The rollers give a good look but there are never enough of the big ones and it doesn't give the loose tumbling effect. The wand is good but tbh GHd's are the best of the bunch.

I think the answer lies in another product altogether ie. a large barrelled 38mm tong I saw one in Wilkos for £20 there are lots of you tube videos showing how to get loose curls with one. My ds says he's going to save up at get me one for mothers day, bless him he's only 9.
