How can I get out of not tipping my hairdresser this week?

I love him. He is a really good hairdresser. Trouble is, he is getting more expensive each time I go. Last time I went it was £48 and I gave him £55. This week I really cant afford to leave more than a couple of quid and, I feel awful. Should I just give him the full amount? Its the way they hang around at the end, I cant stand it!!!

I give the junior a fiver at Xmas.

I never tip my hairdresser. She charges me £25 for a cut and blow dry and I always book my next appointment when I pay. I go every 6 weeks.

Im going soon. Im off to the bank first so I will get some change from there. Im going to complain about being broke, instead of Angelina Jolies leg.

I always try to tip the hairdresser about 10%. There's no real logic to which services traditionally get tips and which don't but hairdressers' pay and conditions are notoriously bad. For many hairdressers it's long hours, on their feet, dealing with nasty toxic chemicals, all for minimum wage. Unless you're a big celebrity hairdresser of course.

It may have already been said, but if he is the owner, you don't need to tip. I just normally tip whoever washes my hair

He's not. It's a very successful chain. I crumbled and gave four pound coins as the cut was £39 which was less than expected

Pay by debit card and swiftly walk away - with the prices hairdressers charge these days, I don't feel in the slightest bit guilty

I usually tip and I tip well but sometimes I just walk out without tipping (because I want to) and sometimes i jusy say sorry I don't have any change and walk out. But my hairdressing costs between £80 -£120 every 6 weeks depending on whether or not I'm having highlights or just roots done so that means tipping th hairdresser and the colourists -usually £10 each.
Lat time I only had £10 note so asked them to split it between them. Sometimes i give the shampooist £2 but I usually can't find her.
