Help needed! DD(12) is being confirmed, can't decide on an outfit for her.

She does not have to wear white or cream.

I do not have a huge amount of money and I would like her to wear the outfit again!

Really would appreciate any help. She is average size for a 12yr old.

Thanks

DD3 (the most recent confirmation here in the mathhouse) wore a cream stretchy lace dress with cap sleeves (stretchy lining) cream mini-fishnet tights and dark red 2inch high heels. She wore it again for a class trip to an opera with a scarf at the neck and I tried to get her to wear it for Easter but she felt too cold. It cost something in the range of £19.99 and the shoes were pure plastic and £13/14 ish on a sale.

DD2 (four years ago -- average to tall height and weight but bigger bust than the average 13yo) wore black trousers, black 2" heels and a sleeveless turquoise top with a crossover style high neckline, with a white fitted jacket over the lot. She wore the pants again many times and I have worn the top a good few times. Pants were very cheap, no more than £11.99 iirc, and the top was £9.99ish. The shoes were mine. No-one ever wore the jacket again. She was the only girl in trousers iirc.

DD1 (eight years ago) was very petite at 13 and wore a black skirt, pink tailored 3/4 sleeved blouse with a tiny silver thread woven through, black sheer tights and ballet flats. All the others wore the outfit but they were a few years younger when it fitted them. (DD2 and DD4 wore it at age 9). DD1 started shooting up right after confirmation so she never wore it again. I can't remember how much it cost but I had to go to an expensive place to get something for her that didn't look childish.

DD4 is showing signs of growing quite tall and she will probably wear the black trousers at least, but I think she will also wear the cream lace at some point.

Best bet for something that can be worn again by the original owner is separates, I would imagine. But it depends on how fast the DD grows and what sort of occasions come up. My own DDs usually dress very casually and the confirmation outfits as complete outfits felt a bit too formal for most other occasions.

I was thinking of getting her a dress out of Next, there are 4 that we like (we as in me and her!)

dress 1 - www.next.co.uk/x49678s1#818148x49

dress 2 - www.next.co.uk/x49680s6#114683x49

dress 3 - www.next.co.uk/x49678s3#822958x49

dress 4 - www.next.co.uk/g624092s4#806485g62

what do you reckon? Any or none?

dress 1 - hideous (sorry!)
dress 2 - quite nice
dress 3 - prefer it in aqua
dress 4 - a bit shapeless

I think this one is nicer than the colour block one you linked earlier

Will have a think about that dress Seona1973. Will show her in the morning. Thank you

I like 2 and 4 best, with 4 edging 2 as it looks more formal.

Debenhams coral chiffon £22.00

Grape orchid print but only available up to size 12, £27.50

I saw this dress in Asda today and it looked nice:

I also find TKMaxx good for this sort of thing.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone. I know DD will go for the Monsoon dress - that is her full stop! Not sure its the right one for a confirmation though!!!!
