Can anyone recomend a foundation that will illuminate and cover. I am looking increasingly washed out and have uneven skin. I have never really worn make up so need it to be easy to apply (remembers terriable times in past of orange tram lines and quivers). Do I also need to purchase a powder if so which one can you suggest. I want to be beautiful and young again boo hoo...

thank you.

Go for Bare minerals in the original formula - buildable coverage, lasts all day, loads of colours and it is impossible to get demarkation lines...Smile

Lily Lolo has been recommended a few times. www.lilylolo.co.uk/sp+mineral-foundation-spf-15+001.

I have ordered a couple of their samples which are really good value: 1.29 GBP only. I can't really comment much on it yet because I use foundation only occasionally.

another fan of "Bare Minerals" here, I am 40 and it makes my skin look fab. Go to local department store and get them to pop some on for you and get a feel for it. I mix a little bronzer in with the foundation, gives a nice glow.

I also use bare minerals.

Mac studio tint moisture is also great, just mix a bit in with your moisturiser for quick even skin tone :)

Thanks all I am ordering some now...

I use Lancome Hydra Zen tinted moisturiser mixed with moisturiser, or wear it on top of moisturiser if I need more coverage (my skin's usually too dry to use it on it's own); I really like it because it looks nice and natural and doesn't feel like I'm wearing make-up, yet warms and evens out my complexion. Ask for a sample to try.

I haven't tried Bare Minerals yet, think I will have to now, seeing all these recs.

HUH ?
Bare minerals : is it only available in powder ?
What do you use underneath ?

( i thought "foundation" referred to a Cream or mouse )

I got maybelline The Eraser foundation this week and am really impressed. Before I never would have used anything other than Bobbi Brown Luminous Foundation. At one third of the price and a great sponge applicator, I'm converted!

it is a powder...you buff it on with a brush and the more you buff, the more coverage you get - it is magic!! Take a look here on the qvc website and you can watch a video presentation - the purple tab under the main photo. It is also on easy pay so you can try if for under a tenner Grin. That size pot lasts me about 5months btw...

Oh and spider...always use primer under all foundation - powder, liquid, cream, mousse, foam...

You can get the BM brushes that go with the foundation from ebay for a few pounds btw...

I use bare minerals too, but if you fancy something else, try benefit (£5 voucher in some packs of coca cola at the moment) i can't remember the product name but comes in a little square box with picture of vinly disc player in front. There is small circular pot inside, with mirror.
