Friend's Wedding 2-3 weeks after I give birth... what to wear!?

Help!

I don't know whether I should start looking now or not, or if I wait will I have the time/energy to find something nice... but I'm due in approx 6 weeks, and in 9 weeks it is a close friend's wedding.

First baby, so I have no idea what I will be like after... not put any extra weight on yet (tis all bump!) and I realise I will still have a wobbly tummy and big boobs and will need "access" to said big boobs during the day...

Am kind of thinking about a wrap-around style dress, but should I go top and trousers/skirt so I can change if I get milky? Don't wanna spend too much money, as I probably won't wear it again, but equally I don't wanna look naff (although I realise - and am hugely grateful - that everyone will be looking at the bride, or baby, rather than me!)

Any tips/links to nice dresses all graciously received!

Thanks

Remember that first babies are often late So your baby might be only a week old. Also there is a 1 in 3or 1in 4 chance that you might have a c section, so you need to factor that in. Eg tight waistbands will be uncomfortable

Also remmeber that you will still be bleeding heavily so will need to pop to the loo a lot to change pads.if you have stiches you will need to be careful with them

I would go for seperates as i found them easier to bf in. And you will be able to get more wear out of thme, rather than a Dress if you are not a dress person. Dont worry aboutit geting milky as bm doesnt really stain your clothes like formula. Jersey is more forgiving than a top with buttons.

You will be sitting downa lot bf, so put your effort into nice hair, make up and jewelllery and dont worry so much abiut skirt and shoes

Thanks, I think seperates may be the way forward too! Will be easier to change if I need to... the only trouble now, is finding something that is still pretty but will fit, not have tight waistbands and not be too frumpy!

Not that into hair and make-up usually, but will have to make an effort on that point as the rest of me will be looking so shocking!

and yes, I realise that this one is bound to be late, being my first, but also it being sod's law that I have a wedding to go to... have already had stern words with the bump! (here's hoping!)

I did a bfing wrap dress at 7 weeks after dd born and was v comfy.
Separates could be a bugger if you end up with a cs (as I did)
Was about 30 quid but I did wear it again after, will see if I can find a link to similar

im in this same situation too although a def few weeks longer between birth and the wedding. i've seen some nice wrap dresses in jojo and they have tops too. what you could do, is order a fair few off the internet so youve got options and then return them at your leisure after? i might do this too to save panicked shopping with a newborn.

Google Babes with Babies...
found some lovely stuff on there, maybe a little pricey but it is a good friend's wedding so i would easily spend that on a "normal" dress.

Also if you have a quidco account they are doing £5 off when you spend £50 with 5% cashback at the moment...

Think I will go for it!
