Any recommendations please? Does need to be high spf. Not too worried about cost as I'm going to treat myself to something decent.

The Elizabeth Arden one is practically half price on cheap smells

Does anyone know if it is easy to apply foundation over it?

PastGrace · 26/02/2012 11:57

Constance I found it really good to apply foundation over. Nice and smooth and non-greasy.

I sound like I work for them. I don't, honestly, I just think it's amazing.

ConstanceChatterley · 26/02/2012 12:05

Brilliant, thank you!

Ordering now! (some EA hand cream and some Lancome mascara might have slipped into the basket too...)

See my previous post- Clinique City Block.

Wolfordwonder · 26/02/2012 17:00

I've tried many -every on the market- high SPF's as had a skin cancer removed a few years ago, the ultrasound anti ageing is a great product, but I found it left the whitey film that's so many high SPF products do, I came across sunsense SPF 50, it's slightly tinted and a great price. Will send a link through, makes skin look luminous, and fine to wear foundation over. Love it!

Wolfordwonder · 26/02/2012 17:01

Whoops, ultrasun, not ultrasound!

I use what vivian uses the stila, brilliant and I rate it over clinique city block.

latrucha · 26/02/2012 18:06

I had the Elizabeth Arden one last summer. It was good but I can't say I loved it and was thinking of trying a new one this year, so don't worry!

ohyouBadBadkitten · 26/02/2012 18:56

that's good to hear latrucha!

Another vote for sun sense SPF 50+ for face (actually I also use their toddler mild and family sun cream too during the summer months) I use the face one every day, all year round and have done for years and find it absolutely brilliant. Was recommended by my dermatologist in fact.

jalopy · 26/02/2012 21:37

Ultrasun is fab.

I use Dermalogica Solar Defence booster SPF30 under my regular moisturiser. It's lovely, feels nice, soaks in well and doesn't sting my eyes at all.

latrucha · 27/02/2012 15:04

I did Vivian

latrucha · 27/02/2012 15:06

I've never tried it but I am tempted. I'm very pale (redhead). Do you think the lightest would be ok?

Although the Aveeno one which says you can use it on your face is £2.99 in Savers ATM Smile

La Roche-Posay SPF 50 is really good. It has a reduced chemical content and sinks in well; no white marks. You can get it in larger Boots.

ohyouBadBadkitten · 28/02/2012 07:40

Its fab to know how much choice is out there :)

I wouldn't use SPF all the time. In the summer you need the precious vitamin D for all kind of health reasons.

faustina · 28/02/2012 08:33

Heliocare

this is what I have been using for a couple of summers, after I was given a sample from my beauty clinic. It's brilliant, and the colour is so good I don't bother with any kind of foundation.

AgathaCB · 28/02/2012 11:00

I second Del123 - I've been using the Roche-Posay 50 for almost a year and at last my pigmentation is starting fade.

I do apply it as soon as I wake up, and again if I'm going to be outside for any length of time. It works well under makeup, doesn't cause spots, and has the added bonus of being both relatively inexpensive and often on 3 for 2 in Boots.

Marie Helvin talked about it in Vogue, I recall.
