I don't know if any of these will be any good, but the latest MN Money Saver email had a code for 20% off Oasis dresses at Debenhams this week. Here's the link and the checkout code is TC29.

I succumbed to the very-unplain black and red rabbit print dress and stripy Breton dress Grin

Hullygully · 23/02/2012 16:49

what sort of dresses can old people wear?

miaowmix · 23/02/2012 16:53

well Hully I'm old too, but I have good legs Wink, so I favour short. Is this too casual? isabelle oliver

tethersend · 23/02/2012 17:28

Halston Heritage

Pink

MrsCampbellBlack · 23/02/2012 17:45

I knew it would be a plain blue dress Smile

Hobbs have 20% off with SPRING at the moment.

IVORY-16&refpage=dresses/occasion-dresses Nice for evening and would work with a jacket for worky stuff.

MrsCampbellBlack · 23/02/2012 17:46

IVORY-16&refpage=dresses/casual-dresses link

MrsCampbellBlack · 23/02/2012 17:47

Oh I give up - no idea what is going on with my links but anway hobbs have some good stuff that is fairly plain, good quality and appropriate.

Hullygully · 23/02/2012 18:22

You better do.

Hullygully · 24/02/2012 09:52

Thank you all very much. I will probably get one of the wrap dresses.

I might go to Debenhams at the weekend and have a nervous breakdown

OP posts:
MrsCampbellBlack · 24/02/2012 11:22

Oh don't go to debenhams - its the most depressing store known to man.

Do you have a John Lewis locally - you've then got hobbs etc all in the one place and actually the JL collection isn't too bad.

If you lived near me - I'd go shopping with you Wink Imagines Hully shaking with fear at that offer Smile

Hullygully · 24/02/2012 11:23

Not at all, that's most kind. You'd hate it tho...

No, we don't have any shops where I live, Debs or Peacocks or the Pound Shop.

OP posts:
MrsCampbellBlack · 24/02/2012 11:25

You could order a selection from JL - free delivery and returns and try on at home.

Hullygully · 24/02/2012 11:31

Really?

Goodness.

OP posts:
brass · 24/02/2012 11:31

I think the spotty marks one has universal appeal but you have to look beyond the grey model - she's not doing it any favours. It doesn't cling too much and you could stick a jacket over the top with some bling and look very capable indeed.

Hullygully · 24/02/2012 11:34

oh I missed that one. Yes, and cheap too. Good good.

OP posts:
brass · 24/02/2012 11:35

OMG watch the video for it Shock man in drag sashay LOLOLOL

Hullygully · 24/02/2012 11:40

you've put me off now...

OP posts:
brass · 24/02/2012 11:45

NO NO NO I insist the dress is still good! Shame about the presentation.

Another thought just how much does your tum bother you? Would a pair of control pants help give a better profile and therefore open up more dress options for you?

Otherwise wrap is definitely the way to go. Flattering for every shape.
