Hyper pigmentation - help !

cazza40 · 23/02/2012 14:36

I have freckles which as I age seem to be merging into each other - I hate it ! I have been using Clinique even better serum and moisturiser for a good year plus and it has helped to some degree but surely there must be something better out there - or a mask I should be using ? Any advice would be appreciated !

Try this kit. The most that you have to lose is about £8-9 as p&p is £5 and return P&p would be a little less. It is on easypay and so your whole intitial outlay would be less that £20 (then you just pay £12.33 every 30 days for another 3 payments if it works for you - if not send it back and you get the £12.33 that you initially paid debited back to your card). The wash you use everyday and the night cream every night. The mask you use twice a week for two weeks and then once a week thereafter. I have had great rusults with it for resurfacing my mildly scarred skin and I know a guy who uses it for a pigmentation patch on his forehead. Worth a try as you can continue to use the clinique too.

Also - the mask and wash are the same ones elemis use in their tri-enzyme facial which is £118 a session at the Mayfair salon!

Thanks mrsmartin I will definitely give it a go. I had an Elemis facial years ago and loved the products but never got round to buying any !

Well they are so expensive...but that tri enzyme kit and this pcmc kit make it relatively affordable.

When I lived in Australia there was a brand .... I might be getting confused but I m nearly sure it was sk II ...( Cate blanchette was/is the face f the brand )
They had lots of supposedly excellent skin whitening stuff .... I used their face pack treatment a few times and I do thing it helped (total freckle face hereGrin)
I don't know of they re available here or not but they were the bees knees back then .. Maybe worth a look into??

cazza40 · 23/02/2012 19:37

Think Sk11 is quite pricey ? Has anyone tried Alpha h white gold ?

OP posts:

not the white gold but liquid gold is very good - harsher than tri-enzymes though. Google and see what whitening products are hot in China...they go crazy for those kinds of products

Whizkidwithacrazystreak · 23/02/2012 21:35

For severe pigmentation the only product that works is Hydroquinoine.

Look up Obagi products - they are pricey but they really do work to transform your skin.

Also try peels from a professional aesthetician (glycolic with correct PH balance). This will work if your pigment is superficial only.

I suffer from pigmentation and can honestly say that the above methods work. I wouldn't waste money on the products bought from department stores.

Hepsibaaah · 23/02/2012 21:53

Watching this thread with great interest as also have awful hyper-pigmementation. I've read a bit about Obagi, but there's such an array available I'm utterly confused as to which would be the right choice. I'd go for a peel but want to avoid the down time (3-5 days, right?)???

cazza40 · 24/02/2012 07:10

Have heard of Obagi too. I think you can buy a starter kit of products not sure I would go for a peel because of how long it would take your skin to look calm again

I'm having success with vitamin c powder. Have a look at the reviews on makeupalley for the homemade vitamin c serum.

Some of the recipes look a bit complicated, but essentially, it's a wee bit of vit c powder and some distilled water (I used distilled rosewater from the baking aisle). You can bung in extras, but the vit c is where it's at.

Whizkidwithacrazystreak · 24/02/2012 09:31

Cazza, there are some fabulous peels with minimum down time. I recently had a glycolic peel and didn't peel at all. I also had an Obagi Radiance peel two weeks ago and the results are wonderful - so clear and fresh and I also bought the starter kit so the combination is excellent.

cazza40 · 24/02/2012 11:22

Whizzkid can I ask you how much the radiance peel cost - did you go to a beauty salon ?

Amazon sell the Obagi Nuderm www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=obagi+nu+derm&tag=googhydr-21&index=drugstore&hvadid=17221214150&ref=pd_sl_24afpp09ra_b
And there's quite a lot of info here www.miloclinic.com/treatments/obagi-chemical-peels.aspx ,scroll to the bottom for american style infomercials.

I'm so tempted to try this, just wary about which of the many products to use!!

IWillOnlyEatBeans · 24/02/2012 14:25

Sunblock!

Perfect and protect serum from Boots got better results for me than the Clinique stuff.

Dermalogica Day Bright can help disguise it a bit.

Whizkidwithacrazystreak · 24/02/2012 18:17

Cazza, the radiance peel is around £70 - £90. I can't remember as they had an offer and yes, I did go to a salon. I'd never do a peel by myself as there are so many factors that need professional attention.

Renew Medica have a few salons - www.renewmedica.com/

You can purchase Obagi products online, however, the active ingredients are prescription only so you'll need to visit the salon to get them. Hepsi - there are a lot of products, but it works on a cellular level and it really does work. You get used to all the products and yes, SUNSCREEN is hugely important and I love www.heliocare.co.uk/
