Nice, cheap clothes that are handy for breastfeeding?

Please help! I have a four week old baby who is feeding around the clock and I just don't have time right now to get to the shops or even properly surf the net for some handy breastfeeding basics.
I'm 28, size 8, and do love fashion. I can't afford the designer breastfeeding clothing ranges and they wouldn't really be my style anyway. What I want is nice longline shirts or tops that I can button up and down, and also some warm longline cardigans for easy access. I say warm because I am a cold creature and have lots of rubbish thin long line cardis that are useless.
Any tips or advice would be so appreciated.
TIA.

H&M seem to have quite a few tops with buttons that go down quite low, not sure if these would be any help
One
Two

Also ebay sometimes has nice things, and most people post quite fast. There are also quite a few NCT sales on in this area it seems, if you could get to one of them the one I went to had a few nice things.

Hi. I am still breastfeeding my 14 month old ds so lots of experience re breastfeeding friendly clothes in the past year or so! I found that the best outfit for me was:

a vest top (I bought loads of cheapo ones from Primark in different colours to go under any outfit) which I pull down and flop my boob over the top

a loose t shirt or blouse which I pull up and drape it over the boob while ds is feeding

quite often i wear a cardigan and a scarf as well for warmth.

So I didn't need any special designer breastfeeding clothes. I did buy some button through shirts and stuff but found I didn't use them much because I couldn't keep my (rather ample!) norks covered up.

I was looking at milkchic.com the other day, they post links to current items on websites that suit breastfeeding -it was really helpful!

I agree with I'mcovered. I found the best vests were the cheap as chips ones from Peacocks (you can order on line) with any top (assuming your old tops fit?) and a scarf to cover my also ample boobage. I'd pull the top up and vest down (covers your belly and keeps you warm).

I think 'breast feeding tops' are both pointless and expensive. At the moment primark has some strapless vests for £2.50. Then wear a normal top over it. Hoick one up and one down and you're done. Also the tops are a nice slim fit so they keep you warm without bulk. Any old cardigan will do- bought 2 knitted ones in primark for £12 each.

PinkPepper - thanks, H&M is brilliant for stuff like that. There isn't a branch in my town (am in Rep. of Ireland) but it looks like they may now ship to ROI so I must try them again...

I'mCovered, jocescar, monkeysmama- yes so far Primark (or Penneys as it's known in ROI) has served me really well; I've bought a couple of the tops you all mention and also some lingerie spanx-type slips which have unfastenable straps and are pretty - great for under skirts/dresses.

Pipinella - never heard of that site, how helpful! Thanks!

You know, I think I'm just trying to figure out the whole juggling bra/nursing vest/nursing pads + having boobs thing! I'm normally an A cup but I'd say closer to a C now, and I'm finding my boobs chafe against everything I wear against them. I would much rather not wear a bra but I need something to hold the pads in place! I hope the feeling will settle in a few weeks.

Still on the hunt for a nice, fashionable, longline, WARM cardigan though- absolutely agree it doesn't have to be bf-specific (in fact I don't want it to be), but sadly my mum has been right all these years and there's just 'not enough warmth' in the primark ones for me right now :(

Have had a quick trawl through the usual suspects online - ASOS, TopShop, River Island etc, but can't find anything I really love. Typical - there were loads in the shops all those months I was pregnant, but I was trying to hold off buying regular clothing then.

Thanks so much for your help!

Have a look if Uniqlo have any of their cashmere mix ones left. They're thin but really warm. The cotton silk ones are good too but less warm. Boden had a few in their sale which weren't Bodenesque at all. Cos have some lovely knitwear in their sale.

I just saw this dress in dorothy perkins sale -- its 10 pounds; and25% off. There is a code for free shipping & for the 25% off. They also has a patterned one.

Seems pretty risk free to order on line.

If links don't work -- search Mama.licious in Dorothy Perkins site.
